A Message of Hope and Praise for the
Lord's Work in Nepal
2. YWAM Missionary, Nar Lama, gave the WCUMC congregation a special
message on Sunday of the struggles and triumphs of their mission in
Nepal. His message was filled with praise for the Lord and appreciation
for all that support their mission. After the service, Nar and his family
joined over 70 members and visitors at a potluck dinner where he and his
wife, Mary, gave their personal testimony of how they came to the Lord.
Nar & Mary are Missionaries serving with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in
Nepal. Nar is the YWAM base leader in Kathmandu, which supports
numerous ministries from street kids; to HIV homes for women; to
children’s homes; to training leaders; to planting Christian communities.
This is but a small sample of their ministry in a country with a per capita
income of around $1,600 ($133 per mo.) and is approximately 1.5%
Christian.
Please continue to give them your prayers and financial support to
continue their work.

"Downsizing One Step At A Time"
As we grow older, we find we’ve accumulated a lot of “stuff” over the
years.
Learn how to downsize and simplify; where to begin and simplify, and
what steps to take to right-size your life. A timeless and entertaining
presentation to help you begin the process of discarding, giving away or
selling those extra belongings.
Presented by Wesley Homes in partnership with Benevia. The dinner
entree will be provided. Please sign up for side dishes by calling the
church office this week.
Outdoor Adventures: Ebey’s Landing
on Whidbey Island
Saturday, April 20
Ebey’s Landing was featured on the cover of Sunset Magazine as one of
4. the best Northwest hikes. It is a relatively easy hike of 3 miles along the
bluff and back on the beach. Those who don’t want to do the full hike
can relax on the beach.
Afterwards we’ll go to Fort Casey for a hot dog roast and a chance to
explore the fort.
Then it’s south for a ferry ride back to Mukilteo and back to the church
about 8:00 pm. Cost is $2.00 per person (cheap!)

All are invited to attend
In a recent study, the Barna Research Group revealed a stunning statistic
that continues to reverberate throughout the evangelical world. Only 9
percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview.
Because of this, today's believers live very similarly to non-believers. A
personal sense of significance is rarely experienced, we spend our money
and time on things that fail to satisfy and we begin to wonder what life's
ultimate purpose really is. We are, in short, losing our bearings as a
people and a nation.
To counter this slide within the body of Christ, Focus on the Family has
launched one of the most ambitious and powerful projects in the history
of our ministry - The Truth Project.
The Truth Project is a DVD-based small group curriculum comprised of 13
one-hour lessons taught by Chris and Patti Ward. This study is the
starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each lesson
6. discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living the
Christian worldview in daily life.
Classes will meet in Room 10 at 9:00 AM beginning April 21.
Supporters are the core of our program. Our sincere thanks to the 10
troops/packs/dens and their adult supporters for collecting and donating
over 4,100 lbs. of canned goods and food last weekend. God has truly
blessed us but there is always more to be done, so please continue to
support this important mission.
7. Your generosity and community spirit allow us to provide fresh food
(milk, eggs, meat) in addition to canned goods. We are also thankful for
the generous donation of bread from Panera and Franz. An extra item or
two each shopping trip is all it takes to fill up your "cool green bag" for
pick-up every other month.
OPEN POSITIONS
Produce Shopper to shop for produce one time per month.
Green Bag Point Person to promote the Green Bag Program in
partner Churches
Promotional Assistant to assist our Promotion Director in reaching
