What is the Bakugan Game
Bakugan is one of today's most popular games with boys ages 6-12. The game
combines a Pokemon type card play with the old school game of marbles.
A strategic game, Bakugan, was developed by Sega Toys and Spin Master and
released in connection with the anime series, Bakugan Battle Brawlers.
The game uses metal cards and magnetic spring-loaded figures, which represent
the Bakugan.
The purpose of the game is to capture three of the opponent's Gate cards or defeat
all their Bakugan.

What is Bakugan Battle Brawlers?
Bakugan Battle Brawlers is a Japanese anime television series originating in
Japan. The story revolves around the lives of creatures called Bakugan and the
battle brawler characters who hold them. In 2007, Bakugan Battle Brawlers
debuted in Japan on TV Tokyo.
An English language version was produced and premiered on the Canadian network
the same year. In February 2008, it was put on Cartoon Network in the U.S. In
parallel with the anime series, Sega Toys and Spin Master released a strategic

The game's popularity spread quickly with American boys ages 6-12, so much so
that Toys R Us held tournaments in parts of the U.S.
Starter packs contain 3 Bakugan, 3 Ability cards and 3 Gate cards. This is the
minimum needed for a single player in the Bakugan game. Buy two starter packs
and you're ready to play the game. It's a good idea to follow the characters and point
system as some cards (Ability and Gate) are more valuable than others.

Bakugan Gate Cards
The Bakugan Gate Cards are the metal cards that the Bakugan roll onto and do
battle. Each Bakugan Gate Card has 6 G-Power boosts. These bonuses have the
different attribute icons (Pyrus, Aquos, Darkus, Subterra, Haos, Ventus) and are
added to the Bakugan when they battle on the card.
Some cards have special abilities that can greatly affect the score and outcome of
the game. When choosing a deck each player needs three Bakugan Gate Cards,
three Ability cards and three Bakugan. It is important to choose valuable Gate cards.

Blue - Battle Ability Card The blue cards are the most basic of the Bakugan Ability Cards.
These cards give your Bakugan G-Power bonuses depending on its attribute.
Green - Hybrid Ability Card The Green cards are the more powerful of the Bakugan Ability
Cards and are usually the most expensive. The six Bakugan attributes has its own Green Ability
Card and is designed to give all Bakugan of that attrubute a boost.
Red - Counter Ability Card The red Bakugan Ability Cards are normally used in specific
situations either just before you roll or after. The specific conditions on the card must be met for
the card to be activated. These cards have different abilities, varying from that which makes
your opponent move his Bakugan around to one that allows you to re-use a previously used
Ability Card.
