• Google Adwords is a pay-per-click based product
that allows advertisers to precisely target a chose
audience base. The Adwords technology powers
users with a definite list of keywords and key-
phrases that trigger a PPC scenario. Once
established, Adwords will display all related
advertisements on search pages and related web
pages, such that businesses get connected to their
target audience.
• On the other hand, traditional SEO campaigns are
based on search engine rankings based on the
presence of related keywords. Looking deeper,
SEO seems to be sort of gambling with search
engine rankings, while Google Adwords promotes
visible and sure shot results – results that can be
converted into actual website traffic, leads and
sales.
• Both Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and
Google Adwords are excellent ways of targeting
the traffic. However, in terms of internet
marketing, Adwords seems to hold a higher
ground. SEO methods mainly focus on connecting
relevant website content to search engine
queries. It’s a tool that will rank you in the SERPs
and natural search results.
• SEO does optimize your site in terms of articles,
content and keywords at hand that helps
distinguish your site from competing businesses.
However, with so much competition and with
each business trying hard to get themselves
ranked better, it’s a tough ask that your
investment will actually guarantee results.

framework in place. But every modern business
understands the way search engines work and the
chances of success are inversely proportional to
the number businesses in a certain category.

response to the greatly shifting marketplace.
• SEO is just a tool that defines your activity in search engines but Google Adwords is a sure shot
organic listing that the visitor is compelled to see.
• Adwords is a more rapid way to generate leads and sales. You can start seeing results almost
instantly, whereas SEO takes months to work.
• SEO requires you to optimize the quantity and quality of links to your web page but Google Adwords
does not require anything other than a well-written ad and well-designed landing page.
• Your results in SEO will change every time Google updates its algorithm and you can end up losing
all your business overnight if you lose your search rankings after an update. Many businesses
painfully learned this lesson after the Panda and Penguin updates.
• With Google Adwords, your results have no correlation with algorithm updates, as long as your
landing page meets their quality standards.
• While SEO and Adwords don’t completely exclude each other, the latter is a
better option if you are looking to generate sure shot revenues from your
website. Google being the primary search engine that end users refer to, you
have a better chance with Adwords than with any other advertising program.
