This document provides instructions for locking actual posting periods in cost center accounting to prevent further transactions. It describes using transaction code OKP1 to lock the actual period of June for controlling area 9100, fiscal year 2006, and version 0. Users select the period to lock on the edit screen before clicking "Lock period" and saving. Locking periods prevents further actual postings for the selected combination of controlling area, fiscal year, and version.

Functionality
The period lock is used to lock plan and actual business transactions for a combination of
controlling area, fiscal year, and version to prevent further postings in the controlling area.
This function is similar to FI locking of periods.
Scenario
We want to lock actual postings for the period of June in controlling.
Requirements
All postings in Controlling module for the period have been executed.

Note: It is also possible to lock in dependant transactions by activating the relevant radio button in the
list.
