Christmas Day,
Their old
familiar carols play,
And
wild and sweet the
words repeat,
Of Peace
on Earth,
17. Then pealed the bells
more loud and deep:
“God is not dead,
nor doth He sleep;
The
wrong shall fail,
the right prevail,

For His bed a cattle stall;
Oxen lowing, little knowing
Christ the Babe is Lord of all.

That glorious song of old,
From angels bending
near the earth,

good will to all,
From heaven’s all-

The world in solemn

To hear the angels
sing.
