Stevie JoEllie’s Cancer Care Fund – Thyroid Cancer Awareness Program
Deadline: May 20, 2012
We are seeking endocrine health and thyroid cancer treatment specialists
as well as health and wellness experts who would you like to share their
expertise and knowledge with newly diagnosed thyroid cancer patients and
survivors
Please submit your proposal to present at Stevie JoEllie’s Cancer Care Fund’s
First Annual Thyroid Cancer Survivors Reunion and Celebration of Life 2012
International Conference, Sept.1-8 at the CocoKey Water Park and Resort in
Orlando FL.

Speakers will be notified no later than May 2012 if their presentation has been selected.
All proposals will be reviewed and evaluated by our event development team that comprise thyroid cancer patients
and survivors nationwide, Stevie JoEllie’s Cancer Care Fund’s board members and United Charitable Programs
Inc., a registered 501(c) 3 Public Charity.
Stevie JoEllie’s Cancer Care Fund’s goal is to provide thyroid cancer patients and survivors with relevant clinical
information and long term health and wellness tools and resources as cancer survivors who have lost a major
endocrine gland.
Event Audience
Attendance at Stevie JoEllie’s Cancer Care Fund’s First Annual Thyroid Cancer Survivors Reunion and Celebration
of Life International Conference includes the following categories:
 Thyroid Cancer Patients (both pediatric and adult)
 Thyroid Cancer Survivors (both pediatric and adult)
 Caregivers and Loves Ones
 Other healthcare professionals
 Other nonprofit organizations
 News and Media
 Corporate Partners
The audience involves newly diagnosed patients, recent survivors and long term survivors as other healthcare
professionals. Each group demands the most current information delivered in a quality and easy to understand
format.
SJCCF offers 1 hour and 15 minute concurrent educational sessions in 3-4 tracks of interest. These sessions allow
individuals to gain information on current issues, get more in-depth material on basic areas of knowledge or develop
insight into long term health and wellness plans as survivors.
A key ingredient to adult learning is interaction with your peers. Proposals should list ideas on interactive exercises.
Each presentation should include at least one interactive exercise.

Stevie JoEllie’s Cancer Care Fund – Thyroid Cancer Awareness Program
Proposals Criteria
SJCCF’s Event Development Committee and Advisory Council will review all applications. The council assesses:
 Overall quality of content
 Practical applications of material
 Innovation
 Clarity
 Timeliness of subject
 Ideas for interactive exercises
An individual or organization can submit more than one proposal, but each proposal must contain all the specified
information to be eligible for consideration.
Preference will be given to experts in the field of thyroid cancer treatment, endocrine health as well as
complimentary health and wellness presenters. Proposals will be judged on focus and clarity and the relevance,
practicality, audience appropriateness and transferability of content. SJCCFcannot accept phone calls regarding the
status of proposals prior to May 2012.
Registration Travel Information
All speakers are asked to register for the conference and are responsible for all related travel costs.
Marketing and Session Description
SJCCF will use the information submitted in the application orm, if accepted, for the marketing brochure. SJCCF
reserves the right to edit copy. It is the responsibility of the presenter to ensure that all co presenters have
consented to be included in the form and in the marketing brochure.
Partnering for Success
NOTE: Presentations cannot be sales pitches. If you are supplier of products or services, please be sure your
session content is based upon a relevant topic, concept or idea – not one of your products, services or proprietary
information. We highly recommend coordinating your presentation session with a patient or survivor testimonial. It is
important to have both perspectives.

it’s funding objective is thyroid cancer patient and survivor healthcare access and free supportive services, not
research funding. SJCCF aims to alleviate the financial barriers to healthcare, treatment, follow-up and long term
wellness needs of a growing community that will have unique healthcare needs for life.
