We all benefit from fresh perspective. As part of Six Corners' Storefront Improvement program, I conducted both an exterior and interior assessment of Today's Avon, overseeing execution and assisting with re-fixturing, new block plans, etc.
2. Project Goals:
Edit signage for clearer message, cleaner appearance.
Find alternative to blinds for reducing light in store.
Evaluate customer view of store from sidewalk + door.
Evaluate business categories—retail vs. resale.
Establish best practices for use of seasonal décor.
3. Recommendations:
Permanently remove existing blinds,
white lights, “open” signage, etc.
Thoroughly clean glass—inside and
out.
Remove all signage and products
from ledge.
Update or remove planters.
Replace white blinds with pink
panels (fabric or plastic),
doublesided. Uniform @ 36” length
from frame.
Create “open”/”closed” signage
for door with store hours.
4. Request that painted surfaces
be repaired and repainted.
Update window vinyl signage
to include web address, twitter
and fb badges.
5. The store’s interior is cheery—and crowded! There are a sufficient
number of fixtures available for the AVON product but the presence
of resale items muddies the merchandise mix.
6. Regroup fixtures. Create visual strikepoint @ entrance with mannequins. Remove
or relocate resale items. Replace framed artwork with merch. categories (“hair
care”, etc.) or beauty-related graphics.
7. Replace “Today’s Avon” signage—create (paint) pink or white 12”18” strip across top of wall. Add new lettering + recruiting
information. Reduce no. of individual signs taped to wall. Confirm
consistent font usage on store collateral.
Covers for overhead fluorescent lights?
8. Not to scale!
Recommendations:
-all existing wall shelving to remain.
-reconfiguration of caseline roughly as shown
-feature table in aisle
-4 matching white shelf units redistributed, placed back to back parallel to storefront.
-fixtures to be eliminated: popchips spinner, armoire in nw corner and a few others.
-resale component? Ideally, will be eliminated but otherwise. . . regrouped to a rear corner
