Here we are again!
Shortly after a successful afternoon of boardgaming, a couple
of crazy fans endeavoured to make a Luxembourgish Science
Fiction, Fantasy & Horror convention a reality. About a year
later, Centre Culturel ‘Schungfabrik’ was filled with the sounds
of happy people, astonished children and an overwhelmingly
positive atmosphere – but above all, a much higher number of
visitors than any of us over at LuxCon-HQ could have expected.
Everybody on the LuxCon team has since worked hard to bring
you a bigger, better event this year, while retaining the cozy
atmosphere that so many of you have commented upon.
This year we bring you novelties with Miltos Yerolemou, our
first ever media guest of honour, register for one of his
Waterdancing workshops if you can. There are also our two
literary guests of honour, Aliette De Bodard and Adrian
Tchaikovsky, as well as many local and international writers,
artists, fan organisations and all around awesome people.
Many thanks to our supporters, volunteers and of course to you
our fans and visitors.

Tom Daut Cara d'Lestrange
Tom Daut has loved all forms of the
fantastic since he learned to walk. As
an author he likes it dark and has been
writing SF, Fantasy and Horror since 2008,
often blending the genres in his novels
and short stories. Publications: Die Sinistra

aime le sombre, l’obscur et a produit des

Influenced by the father and older brother,
Cara D’Lestrange, has been fascinated
by Science Fiction and Fantasy since
childhood. She fulfilled her wishes for a
story that she would love to read herself
with the publication of Augenblicke der
Ewigkeit (Moments of Eternity). Further
publications are coming.
Influencée par son père et son frère
aîné, Cara D’Lestrange fut fascinée par la
science-fiction et le merveilleux depuis
sa tendre enfance. Avec la sortie de
Augenblicke der Ewigkeit (Moments de
l’éternité), elle s’est réalisé son rêve: écrire
une histoire qu’elle aurait voulu lire elle-
même.
Beeinflusst durch den Vater und den
älteren Bruder, begeisterte sich Cara
D’Lestrange schon als Kind für Science-
Fiction und Fantasy und erfüllte sich mit
Augenblick der Ewigkeit den Wunsch nach
einer Geschichte, die sie selber gerne

Vanessa Dubaniewicz
Vanessa Dubanniewicz, born in 1979, has
always had a passion for writing. After a
few futile attempts to get her first book Le
miroir de Borgoth (The mirror of Borgoth)
published, she decided to create her
own publishing house in July 2013. Since
then Le Monde des Etoiles ASBL is on an
incredible and magical ride.

Après divers déboires pour faire éditer

Alexander Knörr’s main output are
books and articles on fringe sciences.
His first pre-astronaut-era SF novel
Quantensprung 2012 – The day when we
willbetaken! was published in 2012. In the
meantime the second volume Die Kinder
von Eureka in the Chroniken von Tilmun
Series has been published.
Alexander Knorr publie principalement
des livres et articles thématiques sur
les sciences marginales. Son premier
roman de SF dans l’ère pré-astronaute

par le couple Low en 2005 avec comme
point central le fantastique. Sa mot
d’ordre est le Fair Publishing en tentant de
trouver une balance entre auteurs jeunes
ou affirmés, publiés ou non-publiés. Pour
lui, il est important de rester loyal à soi-

World Trilogy (The Inferior, The Deserter,
and The Volunteer) the last volume of
which appeared in June 2014. The books

Born in 1996, Astrid Méan was soon
drawn to speculative fiction. Her passion
for greco-roman mythology and antiquity
pushed her to blend it with her other
fascination : Fantasy. At sixteen she
finishes Deorum Interfectores : Alter Ego,
the first volume of six in an epic saga.
Née en 1996, Astrid Méan est très tôt
attirée par l'imaginaire. Sa passion pour la
mythologie et l'antiquité gréco-romaine
la pousse indéniablement à la mêler à
la fantasy, son autre objet de culte. À
seize ans, elle met le point final à Deorum
Interfectores : Alter Ego, le premier tome
d'une saga de six volumes.
Astrid Méan, Jahrgang 1996, fühlt sich
bereits früh von der Fantastik angezogen.
Ihre zweite Leidenschaft gilt der Antiken
Mythologie und in ihrem Werk mischt sie

sechszehn hat sie beendet sie die Arbeit
an Deorum Interfectores: Alter Ego, den

Claude Peiffer, born in 1963 in the South
of Luxembourg, trained as a bookbinder
and taught himself media desing. The
husband and father likes to read, write,
work with computers and cook authentic
Thai and Indian food. He is the author or
the Cerateran series in which the third
volume, was released in 2015.
Claude Peiffer, né en 1963 dans le Sud
du Luxembourg, est brocheur/relieur et
autodidacte dans le design de médias.
Le mari et père aime la lecture, l’écriture,
le bidouillage sur ordinateur et la cuisine
thaï authentique. Il est l’auteur de la
série Cerateran dont le troisième volume
paraîtra en 2015.
Claude Peiffer, 1963 geboren, ist gelernter
Buchbinder und autodidaktischer
Mediengestalter. Der Ehemann undVater
mag es in seiner Freizeit zu schreiben, zu
lesen, sich mit Computern zu befassen
und thailändische und indische
Köstlichkeiten zu zubereiten. Er ist der
Autor der Cerateran-Reihe, von der 2015
der dritte Band erschienen ist.
Philippe Sombreval lives in Arlon.
Passionate about manga, modelling and
medieval entertainment, he brings them
alive in his work and his everyday life. Out
of this was born Aralune, his first novel.
Illustrator, graphic artist an author, he
easily immerses the audience in his world.

teacher of classic literatures and a Doctor
of literature. His Thesis, defended in 1994
is on the rhetoric of Science Fiction. Since
1984 he is a full-time writer and since
1996 a critic for Bifrost magazine.

She has also written crime novels, set

birthplace of British rails.

le chemin de fer au point d’en faire un
élément central dans La Cité, un univers
d’anticipation aux accents Steampunk.
Elle est aussi l’auteur de romans policiers

Suzanne Vanweddingen, begeistert vom

1997 in Luxembourg, started writing
short stories on the web around the end
of 2013. In 2014 she published her first
major paperback novel: Awakening in
her Realm of the Angels Trilogy. Besides
writing she likes diving and plays violin
and flute. She is currently training to be
a nurse.
Sarah Verlaine, née le 2 février 1997 au

appartient aux auteur de l’imaginaire les
plus connus d’Allemagne. Autre que ses
explorations de SF militaire, criminelle et
un peut de merveilleux, le centre de son
attention est l’histoire alternative des
Emperor’s Men paru aussi en allemand.
Dirk van den Boom, 1966 geboren,
gehört zu den bekannteren deutschen
Phantastik-Autoren. Neben Military SF,
SF-Krimis und etwas Fantasy besteht
das Kernstück seines Werkes aus
der Alternative-History-Serie um die

The Munich born Uschi Zietsch has been
publishing in various genres since 1986.
In 1987 she founded Fabylon publishing
with her husband. Since 1996 she is a
freelance author. She is presenting her
main work, TheChroniclesofWaldsee, with
a reading followed by a discussion.

Aliette de Bodard is a writer of fantasy and science fiction (and
occasionally horror). Aliette has won two Nebula Awards, a Locus
Award, a BSFA Award, as well as WritersoftheFuture. She has also
been a finalist for the Hugo, Sturgeon, and Tiptree Awards. Her
new novel, The House of Shattered Wings, is forthcoming from
Gollancz (August 20th 2015) She has published unique Aztec
mystery-fantasies with Servant of the Underworld, Harbinger of
the Storm, and Master of the House of Darts.
Adrian Tchaikovsky, a British Fantasy Author, is best known for
his Shadows of the Apt series. The first book in the insectoid
fantasy, Empire in Black and Gold, was published in 2008, while
the tenth and final book, Seal of the Worm, appeared in 2014.
He uses roleplaying games as inspiration and testing-ground
for his world-building. His most recent novel, Guns of the Dawn,
is a flintlock fantasy. His latest venture, a science fiction novel,
Children of Time, is set to be published in the summer of 2015.
Aliette de Bodard est une écrivaine de science-fiction et de
merveilleux. Elle a gagné deux prix Nebula, un prix Locus,
un prix BSFA et le prix Writers of the Future. De plus, elle a été

Miltos Yerolemou
(gAME OF tHRONES,
sTAR WARS vii)
Miltos Yerolemou is a Greek-Cypriot actor based in London. He was a regular on the BBC’s children’s show Hububb, but rose to genre
fame with his depiction of Syrio Forel, First Sword of Braavos, whom Ned Stark hires to teach his tomboy daughter Arya the use of the
sword. Though his appearance on HBO’s adaptation of George RR Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire, Game of Thrones, was short it was very
memorable. Miltos can next be seen in a yet undisclosed role in J.J. Abrams’Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens.
Miltos Yerolemou est un acteur grec-chyprien installé à Londres. Il avait un rôle récurrent dans la série pour enfant Hubbubb de la BBC,
mais est devenu célèbre dans le genre merveilleux pour son rôle de Syrio Forel, première épée de Braavos, engagé par Ned Stark pour
donner des cours d’épée à sa fille garçon manquée Arya. Bien que cette aventure dans l’adaptation télévisée des romans Song of Fire

Sabrina Kaufmann was born in 1994
in Luxembourg. Drawing and writing
stories have been passions since she
was a child. She started publishing at the
age of 15 wanting to become a writer/
mangaka. Her illustrations usually portray
dolls in enchanted settings. Her natural
humour encouraged her to start creating
humourous comic and manga.
Sabrina Kaufmann est née en 1994 au
Luxembourg. Dessiner et écrir sont
des passions qu’elle cultive depuis son
enfance. Elle a commencé à se publier à 15
ans pour devenir écrivaine/mangaka. Ses
illustrations arborent surtout des poupées
dans des mondes enchantés. De plus, son
humour l’a encouragée à se lancer dans
des BD et mangas humoristiques.

Lebensjahr veröffentlicht, in der Hoffnung
eine Schriftstellerin und Mangaka zu

ihren Comics und Manga wider.
Emilie Defernez, Frigoline by her alias, was
born 16th December 1991 in Arlon, she
now lives in the Belgian Ardennes. She’s
an illustrator, painter and cartoonist.
She generally loves to work on organic
themes, corporeal elegance and ancient
motifs. She currently, exhibits and works
on a future graphic novel.

Alain 'Wuppes' Wildgen’s work draws
on retro video game aesthetics and
combines the nostalgia we feel with the
need to create, to appropriate an express
the admiration for the cultural artefacts of
our youth. His work originally only meant
for his own party basement has been
widely featured in the media.
Alain “Wuppes” Wildgen s'inspire de
l’esthétique des jeux vidéos rétro et
combine la nostalgie avec son désir
de création, mélant ainsi la beauté et
l’admiration que nous connaissons tous
de notre enfance. Au début, ce n’était
qu’un projet pour sa salle de détente,
mais son art a retenu l’oeil des médias
avec son originalité et son exécution.
Alain „Wuppes“ Wildgen inspiriert
sich an der Welt der Retrovideospiele.
Geschickt verknüpft er Nostalgiegefühle
mit seiner Kunst, um die Kultur unserer
Jugend wieder aufleben zu lassen. War
seine Kunst zu Beginn nur ein privates
Hobby, so hat sie mittlerweile bereits
die Aufmerksamkeit diverser Medien
angezogen.

Katarina Mitrovic
Katarina Mitrovic (aka Crimson
Puppet), born in 1993, currently
studies animation. A multifaceted
artist, she is highly influenced
by Japanese style, is a beginning
cosplayer and crafter, loves tattoo
design and decoration work as well
as video games, which she wants to
work in.

artiste à multiples facettes est influencée
par le style japonais, elle débute en tant
que cosplayeuse et créatrice de costumes

Born in 1990, Toru Weber, took after his mother, harpsichord
player Junko Iwanaga, and started learning the piano from the
age of seven. His experience with baroque and pre-classical
composers earned him a multitude of awards. His mentors
include Michel Béroff and Daniel Blumenthal. He currently
studies at the Brussels Royal Conservatory.
Né 1990,ToruWeber suit sa mère, la claveciniste Junko Iwanaga,
dans la musique et commence à étudier le piano à l’âge de
sept ans. Son expérience avec les compositeurs baroques et
préclassiques lui a obtenu un certain nombre de prix.ToruWeber
a participé à de nombreux stages de piano et a bénéficié de
l'enseignement de pédagogues réputés dont Michel Béroff et
Daniel Blumenthal, ce dernier étant son professeur actuel au
Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.
ToruWeber, Jahrgang 1990, lernte das Klavierspielen von seinem
siebten Lebensjahr an von seiner Mutter, der Cembalospielerin
Junko Iwanaga. Er befasste sich sehr früh mit der Interpretation
von barocken und präklassischen Komponisten und gewann
so bereits in jungen Jahren seine ersten Preise bei diversen
Musikwettbewerben. Momentan ist er in den Kursen von
Daniel Blumenthal am Königlichen Konservatorium Brüssel
eingeschrieben.

Migliosi (Trombone) - DanyWeiler (Trumpet) Guest musician for
the concert on March 28th 2015: - Ben Weiler (Horn) all young
musicians of Harmonie Victoria Téiteng.
Fondé en 2014, l’ensemble de cuivre Root 25 Brass se compose
de Dany Cacao (Euphonium), Angelo Migliosi (Basse Mib),
Lorenzo Migliosi (Trombone) et comme invité pour le concert
du 28mars: Ben Weiler (Trompette). Tous ces jeunes musiciens
sont membres de l’harmonie Victoria de Tétange.
2014 wurde das Blech-Bläser-Ensemble Root25Brass gegründet
und besteht aus: - Dany Cacao (Euphonium) - Angelo Migliosi

(Trompete) Gastmusiker für das Konzert am 28. März 2015 ist
