1. This is the question: what was the purpose of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK)’s use of
intimidation and violence against white and black Republicans in the Reconstruction South?
What did the KKK hope to achieve through its use of intimidation and violence?2: The paper
must be 2-3 pages in length, double-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman font with one-
inch margins. While my preference is for everyone to use Microsoft Word, for now, I am not
making that a requirement. However, because I will make comments on your essay, you

citation must include Victoria Bissell Brown’s last name (she is one of the authors and her
last name comes before Timothy Shannon’s in the alphabet) and the relevant page
number(s). These citations should also be presented at the end of each sentence in
parentheses. I have included below an example of how to cite this reading. You are NOT
required to provide a bibliography.Example of in-text citation: According to former slave
