A project supported by Oxfam GB in Sierra Leone. It's overall key change objective is to improve the status of women in Sierra Leone through; access and control to economic resources and opportunities including land and other tangible property, over basic social services and public governance; reducing their vulnerability to violence and abuse; and ensuring that development interventions are relevant and accountable to women as well as men and girls as well as boys.

5. “ When I heard that this project is teaching new skills to women like me I did not hesitate to come. I’m following agricultural and literacy training as I want to have my own activity to develop myself and support my children’s education… I do not want to depend on anybody. This training is a one- year and we are at the third month now. At least the training is helping me to interact with other women who also went through the similar challenge that I faced”. “ When I graduate from this training, I’m planning to have my own garden and will then grow some vegetables for selling. FAWE will provide us with starters’ kits” . When the war started, my husband and I had to flee to Kabala. “ He has then taken as his own property our house that we built together during our three years of marriage. He contributed towards the building from what he earned from his job and I contributed from what I earned from the petty trading I was doing” “ I had to struggle to take care of our 2 children”.
