2. The internet: didactic tool or just a distraction.
The internet has become essential in our lives, and access is
increasing especially in young people. It is important to
highlight the benefits this revolution brought, but it is also
essential to analyze the disadvantages that may arise. The
internet has made communication easy ,effective and
economical ,besides remote locations may have connections to
it now , which allows interaction with people from different
countries and cultures in few seconds ,On the other hand the
internet has replace books and entire libraries due to its easy
access , it is now easier to find a summary on internet to go to
the library for the entire book just because you can save money
and time , in this essay we will discuss if the internet could
stop being a pedagogical tool and become a dangerous addition .
The young remain hours in front of screen, internet overuse is
causing mental fatigue and fatigue and distraction, and
sometimes has steadily grown because it is common place in
this times. The internet dependence is increasing , is common
to see the technique of copy paste the majority of young don’t
like to read or analyze in our own words and work tasks , the
law of laziness reigns in each of us and the culture of
mediocrity circles with greater height . On the other hand, in
the workplace, is common to see internet has become and
element of distractions for employees, many of them are
subordinate to the network. The bad use of internet in students
3. has caused many problems and they use this tool recreational
purpose only , chat , play games, watch videos , become their
favorite works , leaving aside the possibility of learning in a fun
way .the free path of the “world wide web” doesn’t no set limits
on the locations of excessive information , which could be an
advantage , however it has become a dead end that keeps us
subject to such extensive internet world . One of the most
important has to do with the excessive amount of information to
which we are subject especially young people, which comes into
play the critical level and the disposition of each in the proper
handling of this .
The world of internet is so huge that we can fall into a black
hole of obsessions, if we don’t have proper use of this tool. Some
implications are relate to concern to know what´s new in social
networks , make new virtual relationships , online games and
have thousands of friends , disclose the results about of the
possible consequences for youth internet addition , 1041
people were observed and research was sampled young people
between 13 and 18 years with any kind of depression and after
9 months 84 people were diagnosed with massive addition
(Weng Peng 2005). The experts were able to detect due to a
combination of factors such as lack of sleep, stress and
obsession in which they were subjected by being connected to
the network and where they concluded that young people are so
fragile that we often cannot the mind away from internet and
4. until we feel agitated if we do not “online” urgently with the rest
of the world.
The challenge of the internet is to use each of its resources in a
proper way to learn every day, an endless source of knowledge,
and an opportunity to share and learn about the diversity of
cultures, a way to work with very easily, among other uses. The
internet as a teaching tool gives us a lot of possibilities to
facilitate daily work, gives pedagogical basis for learning, but
sometimes our addiction exceed those barriers. Also, the
internet gives us many tools to learn in an educational and
media pages, blogs, online tutorials (Lesson plan), and virtual
classrooms, among other facilities, to interact and more easily
assimilate sometimes issues hinder us. However, for this to
happen the person should be aware of the benefits and risks of
the network, in addition to having clear goals against the
acquisition of knowledge to avoid problems if you do not have a
critical attitude about the content found there. Hence the needs
for parents to manage this resource guide their children and
teach them to say “log out”.
