The Slovak Republic is a landlocked country located in Central Europe with a population of over 5 million. It borders the Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, Ukraine and Hungary. The capital and largest city is Bratislava, while the second largest is Košice. Slovakia has a rich culture and is renowned for its architecture, including churches, castles and mansions. Ethnic Slovaks make up around 85% of the population, while Hungarians are the largest minority at around 10% concentrated along the Hungarian border. Traditional Slovak cuisine includes potato dumplings with sheep's cheese called bryndzové halušky.
