would fast and eat twice a day
one iftar (dinner), the other
sahur(breakfast); and people
wouldn’t eat or drink anything
between sahur and iftar

start eating with
several kinds of
cheese, olives, jams,
pastrami (a kind of
bacon), date and Pide
(a kind of bread eaten
during Ramadan);
then they ate soup
