Halloween, also known as Halloween or All
Souls Night is a celebration of Celtic origin
which is celebrated internationally on the
night of October 31, especially in Englishspeaking countries such as Canada, USA,
Ireland or the United Kingdom and, to a
lesser as in Argentina, Chile, Colombia,
Mexico, Peru or Latin America overall, and
in much of Spain. Despite being purely
Anglo-Saxon countries, in Australia and
New Zealand is not as observed in other
countries.

Halloween has its origins in various
cultures and eras. The Celts celebrated
Samhain, when it was concluded the
harvest season. They believed that on
the night of October 31, the witches and
the spirits of the dead roamed the face
of the earth.

On Halloween literally Eve of All
Saints, the Anglo-Saxon legend says it is
easy to see witches and ghosts. Children
dress up and go-with a candle inserted
into a hollowed pumpkin in which
incisions are made to form a skull-from
house to house. When you open the door
shouting: (joke or gift) to indicate who
spend a joke not a kind of gratuity or
bonus on candy or money.
5.
An old Irish legend tells that the lighted
pumpkin face would be a Jack
O'Lantern on the night of All Saints,
invited the devil to drink at home,
pretending to be a good Christian. As it
was a dissolute man, ended up in hell.

Europe suffered over a long period of
time the bubonic plague or "plague"
(also known as the "Black Death") which
wiped out almost half of the population.
This created a great fear of death and a
huge concern for this. Masses were
increased at the party of the Dead were
born many satirical representations that
reminded people of their own mortality.
7.
The tradition of "gift or trick" comes from
the persecution that made the
Protestants in England (1500-1700)
against Catholics. In this period,
Catholics had no legal rights. They could
not hold any public office and were
harassed by fines and jail high taxes. The
church service was a capital offense
and hundreds of priests were martyred.
8.
Halloween means "All hallows eve", a word
which comes from Old English and means
"All Saints Eve" as it refers to the night of
October 31, the eve of the Feast of All
Saints. However, the old Anglo-Saxon
custom has stolen their strict religious sense
to hold in place the night of terror, witches
and ghosts. Halloween marks a return to the
old paganism sad trend that has spread
also among the Hispanic peoples.
