Introduction
The Student Monitoring & Attendance Tracking System (SMATS) is a simple-to-use
intranet and mobile system which assists teacher in their daily administration, reporting and
following up tasks. SMATS makes teachers more productive by taking away their daily
administration works and thus enabling them to channel more of
their time to organize, plan and deliver their lessons.
SMATS captures data from fingerprint end devices, mobile
devices and web-based desktops. Teacher can collate
information captured. It assists the school in the following
operations:
− Attendance & Conduct
− Result Analysis & Target Setting
− NAPFA & Height/Weight
− SMS (Short Message Service)
SMATS Mobile
Resided on Windows Mobile handheld devices, it enable teacher
to capture information “on-the-go” – anytime and anywhere

2. SMATS
Enable teacher to search, analyze and collate information captured on the mobile device such as
attendances, student conduct, academic performance and NAPFA score. Teacher can choose to
view the information for a particular or range of student, class, level and stream. Selected
information can also be displayed by day, month or year. Teacher can:
View attendance, absenteeism and lateness.
Set student academic targets, view value added analysis and
analyze data captured.
View student results, their target grade and statistic
information of results.
View information on number of times student/class/level has
committed each type of offence.
Automatically send SMS to parents or guardian at a pre-
determined time when student is absent/late or did not hand
in their homework. Messages send for lateness have several
levels of severity.

Set student future absenteeism records which will be
displayed in mobile device during attendance marking.
Create own SMS groups, mass send SMS to students, their parents, guardian and teachers

Collate capture data into meaningful information for principal and HOD which would
otherwise difficult to get.
Set their time table.
Import student information and results from School Cockpit System.

3. Time savings - Information which took a long time to collate will be easily available by
teacher, class, level, stream, day, month or year at their finger tip.
Continuity - As the information collected is maintained and centralized in a database for
as long as the storage allowed, relieve teacher who takes will have continuity and aware of
the previous situation.
Information backup - SMATS can also double up as a backup for student information
system.
