credits and layouts that provide space for descriptive text in
front of images) can be hidden when you replace a picture.
• For help with easily resetting image layouts, as well as editing and
removing photo credit boxes, see the notes page for this slide

Notes de l'éditeur
Instead of copying these slides between presentations, copy existing slides into a new presentation based on this template, where you have a large selection of title and divider slides available – as well as the exchanges framework slidesTo duplicate a slide that has a custom background, use the duplicate command – do not copy and paste To duplicate one more slides, select those slides in the Slides pane in Normal view or in Slide Sorter view and then press Ctrl+DAccess Normal view or Slide Sorter view on the View tab of the ribbon or on the view shortcut menu on the Status bar at the bottom of the PowerPoint windowYou can then drag the duplicate slides to new locations in the presentation as needed, using the Slides pane or Slide Sorter view
Other than title and divider slides that use graphic expressions – and exchanges framework slides that use custom swirls in the background – four slide backgrounds are approved in Mindshare brandingOn the Design tab, in the Background group, click Background Styles to see the gallery shown below. Notice that the solid purple background is repeated on the top row and the gradient backgrounds are repeated on the second and third rowsAs highlighted in green below, you can use the white background and any solid purple, gradient purple, or gradient blue gallery entry in the last two columns of the galleryThe beige option in the gallery is not an approved background, and the first two columns of gradient options will result in an incorrect text colourTo apply a background to only selected slides, right-click the option you want and then click Apply to Selected Slides
It might seem as though using Keep Source Formatting saves time but it will greatly complicate editing and can lead to file corruption. This is because this feature adds another master and complete set of slide layouts to the presentation each time you use itAdding another master disconnects the pasted slides from the primary master (meaning that they will not update when you try to make many global changes)Adding multiple excess masters also can cause your file size to increase exponentially and the presentation to become difficult to use, or even unstable, as a resultInstead, paste slides normally and let them take on the new master. Correct formatting as needed to match content to the current branding. It might seem like this is extra work, but it can save you much work and frustrationException: If you intentionally need a slide that uses a different master, such as to include slides with a client’s branding, it is fine to consciously and carefully use Keep Source Formatting to intentionally add an occasional additional master
If text is hidden when you replace an image, on the Home tab, in the Slides group, click ResetNote, however, that doing this on the Picture with Story layouts can change the size of your story text box. This is a PowerPoint limitation with the formatting used. Instead, because only one image appears on those slides, select the image and then, on the Picture Tools Format tab, in the Arrange group, click the arrow labelled Send Backward and then click Send to BackAll grey photo credit boxes are placeholdersIf the photo credit box is hidden when you replace an image, on the Home tab, in the Slides group, click ResetTo delete the credit box, select it and then press Delete. If the box contains printable text, you will need to press Delete twice to remove it completelyNote: Although source text boxes and photo credit boxes look very similar, source text boxes that you see on sample chart slides are text boxes, not placeholders. To remove a source text box, just delete it. You can also copy a source text box from one slide onto any other
