Factory act
• The factory act 1934 was introduced
to safeguard the workers against
exploitation by the industrialist.
• The act aims at regulating the
working conditions of workers in
factories.
• The act also provides for penalties for
infringement of the law.
PROVISIONS REGARDING
HEALTH
The factory act 1934 requires that the owner of a
factory must maintain good working conditions for
safeguarding the health of the workers. These
provisions are given below:
1. Cleanliness
2. Disposal of waste
3. Dust and fumes
4. Overcrowding
5. Lighting
6. Drinking water
7. canteen
Provisions Regarding Safety
The provisions of the factories act 1934 regarding
safety are:
1. Precautions against fire
2. Self acting machines
3. Work on machinery in motion
4. Employment of young persons on dangerous
machines
5. Casting of new machinery
6. Protection of eyes
7. First aid application
Working hours for adults
The provisions of the factory act 1934
regarding working hours for adults are:
1. Weekly hours
2. Weekly holidays
3. Daily hours
4. Interval of rest
5. Extra pay for overtime
6. Restriction on double employment
Holidays with pay
The provisions regarding holidays with pay
are:
1. Annual holidays
2. Pay during annual holidays
3. Festival holidays
4. Casual leaves and sick leaves
PRACTICAL STUDY OF
INTRODUCTION
Tinopal was originally founded in
1973 as a surgical manufacturer and
exporter.
Over the past four decades, Tinopal
has established itself as the largest and
most respected manufacturer and
exporter of surgical instruments in
Pakistan.
Facilities Of Health
The tinopal provides the proper health
facilities to the workers of the factory. All
the facilities are up do date as in the
factory act of Pakistan. The facilities of
health like:
1. Cleanliness
2. Disposal of waste
3. Lighting
4. Drinking water
Facilities of safety
The facilities of safety for workers in tinopal is
good as compared to other factories of Sialkot.
The tinopal provides the proper safety
measures like:
First aid measure in case of emergency
Proper training of workers before working on
machines.
Fire alarm and back doors in case of fire.
Provide suitable goggles and masks for the
protection of workers.
Provision of Working hours
& holidays
The tinopal fully implies the provisions of
working hours as defined in the factory act
1934.
No child labour is allowed to work in factory.
All the labour works 8 hours in a day
Provides the lunch interval of one hour to the
labour of factory.
And pay extra wages for overtime
The complete holiday on Sunday and on
festival holidays.
WEAKNESS:
Due to the electric crisis they are
increasing labour working hours.
Not giving annual holidays to labour.
STRENGTHS:
Well implementing factory act 1934
Good feedback from the workers
regarding safety and health provisions.
The factory act aims at regulating the
working conditions of workers in factories.
The act also provides for penalties for
infringement of the law.
TINOPAL is trying its best to adopt
factory act 1934.
They provide provision for health, safety
and working hours.
