6. Class Formation
There are 7 Chinese Studies classes in Prep.
There are no levels among the 7 classes.
There are about 17 to 18 children in each
Chinese class, as compared to 20 in Homerooms.

All the activities are designed and conducted in
order to help the kids in developing their four skills
in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

15. Assessment
Observation will be carried out while the kids are singing
and saying rhymes, having simple conversation taught,
doing role plays, being engaged in reading simple books,
recognizing words taught, etc.
The teachers will be observing the children throughout the
year during the learning and teaching process, in order to
assess their development in terms of Listening & Speaking,
Reading and Writing skills.

17. Reading Programme
(will start after Christmas holiday)
- A paper folder with a storybook will be
sent home for reading during weekends
*The storybook folder will be sent home during weekdays
and to be brought back on Mondays or after holidays.

19. Parents’ Support
•Listen to your child reading texts, singing songs and saying rhymes at home.
•Encourage your child to share what he/she has learnt in class.
•Review & play with the character cards at home.
•Read the story books with your child at the weekends after the Reading
Programme starts & sign the reading folder.
