PART 2
Arabic (plural) of Adab : meanings – “good breeding, decency,
nurture, good manners, refinement, cultured, decorum, courteous,
etiquette, propriety, social grace, to educate, discipline, the
humanities, etc.” sense of proportion and knowledge of their rightful
place in the order of things, the absence of which indicates injustice

Insha’Allah -This is a follow-up course, after completion
of 18 weeks course on the kitab “Ta’lim al-Muta’allim
Tariqit Ta’allum ” of Sheikh Tajuddin Nu’man Zarnuji

“And, O my people, how is it that I summon you to
salvation, the while you summon me to the fire? [for]
you call upon me to deny [the one-ness of] God and to
ascribe a share in His divinity to aught of which I
cannot [possibly] have any knowl-edge the while I
summon you to [a cognition of] the Almighty, the All-
Forgiving!”
(Qur’an: Ghafir: 40: 41)


“There is no doubt that what you summon me to is
something that has no claim to being invoked either in this
world or in the life to come - as [there is no doubt] that
unto Allah is our return, and that they who have wasted
their own selves shall find them-selves in the fire: and at
that time you will [have cause to] remember what I am
telling you [now]. “But [as for me], I commit myself unto
Allah (UFAW-WIDwU-ILALLAH): for, verily, Allah sees all
that is in [the hearts of] His servants.”
(Qur’an: Ghafir: 40: 43-44)


YAA-HAI-YU - YAA- QOY-YUM BI-RAH-MATIKA AS-TA-GHITH
Asw – LIH –LEE – SHA’- NEE – KUL-LA-HU,
WA- LAA – TA-KIL-NEE - ILAA-NAFSEE – TAR-FATA- ‘AI-N

‘O (Allah, the) Ever Living, O Self-Subsisting and
Supporter of all, by Your mercy I seek assistance,
rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me
to myself, even for the blink of an eye.’


Prophet Muhammad s.a.a.w. says:
“Allah Most Exalted said:
‘I am as what My servant thinks of Me,
and I am with him whenever he remembers Me.”
(Hadith reported by Bukhary)


TO PROCEED

TAWAKKUL


Say: "Never can anything befall us save what Allah
has decreed! He is our Lord Supreme; and in Allah let
the believers place their trust (FAL-YATAWAK-KAL)!“
(Qur’an: Taubah: 9: 51)


“And thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them,
“Who is it that has created the heavens and the
earth?” - they will surely answer, “Allah.” Say: “Have
you, then, ever considered what it is that you invoke
instead of Allah? If Allah wills that harm should befall
me, could those [imaginary powers] remove the harm
inflicted by Him? Or, if He wills that grace should
alight on me, could they withhold His grace [from
me]? ”
(Qur’an: Zumar: 39: 38)

... “Say: “Allah is enough for me! In Him [alone] place
their trust all who have trust [in His existence].”
(Qur’an: Zumar: 39: 38)


[And Abraham and his followers prayed:] "O our
Sustainer! In Thee have we placed our trust, and unto
Thee do we turn: for unto Thee is all journeys' end.

O our Sustainer! Make us not a plaything for those who
are bent on denying the truth! And forgive us our sins,
O our Sustainer: for Thou alone art, almighty, truly
wise!"“
(Qur’an: Mumtahina: 60: 4-5)


Whereupon they answered: "In Allah have we placed
our trust! O our Sustainer, make us not a plaything for
evildoing folk, and save us, by Thy grace, from people
who deny the truth!"
(Qur’an: Yunus: 10: 85-86)

“And Allah alone comprehends the hidden reality of the
heavens and the earth: for, all that exists goes back to Him
[as its source]. Worship Him, then, and place thy trust in Him
alone: for thy Sustainer is not unaware of what you do. "
(Qur’an: Hud: 11: 123)


‘ALAL-LAA-HI – TAWAK-KAL-NAA, ROB-BA-NAA– LAA-
TAJ- ’AL-NAA – FITNATAN – LIL– QAU-MIZ –ZOLI-MEEN,
WA-NAJ-JINAA – BI-ROH-MATIKA – MINAL – QAU –MIL – KAA-FI-REEN

"In Allah have we placed our trust! O our
Sustainer, make us not a plaything for
evildoing folk, and save us, by Thy grace,
from people who deny the truth!"


“If you have the true kind of trust (TAWAKKAL) towards Allah,
He will provide for your livelihood as how he provided the birds,
which leave their nest hungry but when they return, fully satiated.”
(Hadith reported by Tirmidzi and Ibn Majah)


“So by mercy from Allah, [O Muhammad], you
were lenient with them. And if you had been
rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would
have disbanded from about you. So pardon
them and ask forgiveness for them and consult
them in the matter. And when you have decided,
then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those
who rely [upon Him].”
(Qur’an: Aali Imran: 3: 159).


“Tie up your camel (first)
then TAWAKKAL (put your trust in Allah)”


“To seek after HALAL - lawful provision
(to maintain one’s livelihood and dependence)
is obligatory after the (other) FARDH
(obligatory duties in matters of DEEN)”
(Hadith reported by Tabrani and Bayhaqi)


“Verily, Allah loves His servant who is
TAQIY (Taqwa :God-conscious-fearing)
and GHANIY (not poor nor needy – ‘rich’)
and KHAFIY (light-weight; unburdensome)”


“Verily, Allah loves His servant who is a diligent worker;
whosoever strive diligently to seek livelihood for his family,
he is liken as those MUJAHEED
striving upon the path of Allah azza wa jal.”


“Verily, there are among sins which cannot be ransomed
(as reparation – KAFFARAH) with prayers (SWOLAH)
nor with charity (SwODAQAH) nor with pilgrimage (HAJJ),
but which can be ransomed (to gain its forgiveness) with
the toil (and trouble) in seeking (working for) a livelihood.”
(Hadith reported by Tabrany)


“It will happen that at the end of age, people need to possess
wealth (DINAR / DIRHAM) in order to establish
their religion and their affairs of the world.”
(Hadith rported by Tabrani)


“The strong believer is better and more beloved by Allah than
the believer who is weak. Therefore have fervent desire
towards all that which brings you benefit.
Seek Allah’s help and do not be weaklings.”
(Hadith rported by Muslim)

“Whoever feels tired (exhausted) in the evening because
of his work with his hands (i.e. employed to seek livelihood),
then Allah covers him with forgiveness that very evening.”
(Hadith reported by Ahmad)


“As for anyone - be it man or woman - who does
righteous deeds (‘AMAL) , and is a believer (MU’-
MEEN) withal - him shall We most certainly cause to
live a good life (HAYYATAN TOYYIBAH) and most
certainly shall We grant unto such as these their
reward in accordance with the best that they ever did.”
(Qur’an: Nahlu: 16: 97)


“However, all (‘IZZAH) honour belongs to Allah, and
[thus] to His Messenger and those who believe [in
Allah]: but of this the hypocrites (Munafiqun) are not
aware.

O YOU who have attained to faith! Let not your worldly
goods or your children make you oblivious of the
remembrance of Allah: for If any behave thus - it is they,
they who are the losers!”
(Qur’an: Munafiqun: 63: 8-9)


“And unto everyone who is conscious of Allah (TAQWA),
He [always] grants a way out [of unhappiness], and
provides for him in a manner beyond all expectation;
and for everyone who places his trust in Allah
(TAWAKKAL) He [alone] is enough. Verily, Allah always
attains to His purpose: [and] indeed, unto everything has
Allah appointed its [term and] measure.”
(Qur’an: Talaq: 65: 2-3)


“But whenever good fortune alighted upon them, they
would say, "This is [but] our due"; and whenever
affliction befell them, they would blame their evil
fortune (YAT-TwAY-YARAH) on Moses and those who
followed him. Oh, verily, their [evil] fortune had been
decreed by Allah -but most of them knew it not.”
(Qur’an: A’-raf: 7: 131)


[Someone mentioned to the Messenger] “Among us mankind,
there are those who are inclined to the suggestions of bad
omens (TA-TwAI-YYAR)” to which he s.a.a.w. then said: “This
may occur to any one of you, but do not allow it to prevent you
from doing what needs to be done.”
(Hadith reported by Muslim)


‘Uqbah r.a. said: “I mentioned TwI-YARA (bad omen) to
The Messenger s.a.a.w. and he said: ‘It is better to hold
to optimism and do not let omens prevent any Muslims from
doing whatever is needed to be done. Whenever you see
anything occurring which you dislike, say this:

‘O Allah! Nothing can bring benefit except You, and nothing
can prevent any harm except You – There is no strength nor
power except with You.”
(Hadith reported by Abu Dawud)


ALLAA-HUM-MA – AN-TA – ROB-BEE,
LAA – ILAA - HA – IL-LA - ANTA,
’ALAY-KA – TAWAK-KAL-TU –
WA – AN-TA ROB-BUL- ’ARSHIL – ’AZEE-M

“O Allah! You are my Sustainer, there is no other god except You.
Upon You I have placed my trust (TAWAKKAL).
And You are the Lord Sustainer of the Exalted Throne (‘Arsh). ”


MAA-SHAA- ALLAAHU KAA-NA,
WA-MAA- LAM – YASHA’- LAM - YA-KUN,
WA-LAA-HAU-LA – WA-LAA-QUW-WA-TA-
IL-LAA - BIL-LAA - HIL – ’ALIY-YIL- ’AZEEM

“Anything that Allah wishes will happen, and anything
that He does not wish will never occur. And there is nothing
nor is there any power that can change this except by Allah,
the Most Exalted, the Most Esteemed.”


A’-LAMU – AN-NALLAA -HA – ‘ALAA –
KUL – LI – SHAY - ’INQ – QA - DIIR
WA – AN –NALLAA -HA - QAD – A – HAA -TwA
BI – KUL - LI – SHAY- IN- ‘IL-MAA

“I know that Allah is powerful over all things,
and that Allah comprehends all things in His Knowledge.”


ALLAA-HUM-MA – IN-NI – A-’UU-DZU-BI-KA MIN – SHAR-RI
– NAF-SEE, WA – MIN –SHAR-RI – KUL-LI – DAA-AB-BATIN –
AN-TA – AA-KHI-DZUN – BI – NAA - SwI – YA – TI – HA =
IN-NA – ROB-BEE – ‘ALAA - SwI-RO-TIM- MUS-TA-QEEM

“O Allah! I seek refuge (Your protection) from the evil
that may be in myself (NAFS), and from the evil of
every creatures that You have grasp their forelock.
Verily, it is my Sustainer (Allah) Who is upon the straight path.”


Say: “For this, no reward do I ask of you [- no reward] other
than that he who so wills, may unto his Sustainer find a way!”
Hence, place thy trust in the Living One who dies not, and extol
His limitless glory and praise: for none is as aware as His
creatures’ sins as He. He who has created the heavens and the
earth and all that is between them in six aeons, and is
established on the throne of His almightiness: the Most
Gracious! Ask, then, about Him, [the] One who is [truly]
aware.”
(Qur’an: Furqan: 25: 57-59)

ALLAA-HUM-MA - LA-KA – AS-LAM-TU
WA – BIKA- AA-MANTU
WA- ‘ALAY-KA – TA-WAK-KAL-TU – WA – ILAY-KA – ANAB-TU
WA – BIKA – KHO - SwOM-TU .
A- ‘UU-DZU- BI- ‘IZ-ZA - TIKA - LAA – ILAA –HA - IL-LA – ANTA AN –TU-
DwIL -LA-NEE.
AN – TAL – HAY – YUL – LA-DZEE - LAA- YA-MUU-TU,
WAL - JIN-NU – WAL - IN-SU – YA-MUU - TUUN.


“O Allah! To You I have submitted, and with You I have Faith
in,
and upon You I put my trust, and towards You Alone I turn to,
and to You Alone I complain regarding all my grievances.

I seek refuge in Your Almightiness, for there is no other god
except You, from every grievances. For You are the ever Living,
Who does not die, whereas Jinn and mankind they all die.”
