 GitHub is a code hosting platform for
version control and collaboration.
 It lets you and others work together on
projects from anywhere.
 GitHub, Inc. is an Internet hosting service
for software development and version
control using Git. It provides the
distributed version control of Git plus
access control, bug tracking, software
feature requests, task management,
continuous integration, and wikis for every
project.

 Branching means diverging from the
mainline and continue to work
separately without messing with the
mainline.
 Nearly every VCS has some form of
branch support. In Git, a branch is simply
a reference to the commit, where the
following commits will be attached.
