2. Erno Rubik was born July
13, 1944 in
Budapest, Hungary.
He graduated from the Technical
Univerity, Budapest Faculty of
Archetecture in 1967.
After a few years of
working as an
architect, he became a
professor at the
Budapest College of
Applied Arts.

BCAA, he designed and
started to build a
prototype of the Rubik’s
Cube. He stated he was
“searching to find a good
task for my students.”
During the 1980s, he
was the editor of a
puzzle and game journal
called …And games. A
few years later in 1983
he became a self-
employed and founded
the Rubik Studio, which
is where he designed
furniture and games.
