HOW THE WHITE TIGERS BODY FUNCTION
ENABLE IT TO SURVIVE HOT AND COLD?
 White tigers have
enzymes in their fur
which react to
temperature, causing
them to grow darker in
the cold.
 If a white tiger is
whiter than his
relatives, this might
mean that he spent
less time outdoor
during winter.
 White tigers produce
a mutated form of
tyrosinase, an enzyme
used in the production
of melanin.
 Only functions at
certain temperatures,
below 37 C.
HABITAT OF WHITE TIGER
 Needs about 20 square
miles (or 32 square km)
of space in which to
roam, live and hunt.
 In the wild, it lives in
South-east Asia and in
various parts of India,
inhabiting the grasslands
and forests in which they
can hide themselves
effectively.
 Supply of prey is of
utmost importance to its
survival.
 Due to their lighter
colouring , they are not
as well camouflaged in
the dark vegetation as
their more common
Bengal peers, but the
stripes do help to break
their profile up, visually
speaking.
DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
 Consist of the stomach,
liver, pancreas, small
intestine, and large
intestine.
 Works the same as that
in humans.
 Excrete urea as their
nitrogen waste, and
their excretory system
consists of two kidneys.
CHEMISTRY
 White Tiger are
not snakes, they
don’t use
chemical to
attack their prey.
HOW DO TIGERS KILL WITH ONE BITE?
 Tigers go straight go
the neck of their prey.
 The huge bite can
snap the victim’s neck ,
or suffocate it.
 They need to feed On
29 kilogram of meat
per day which is equal
to 15 chickens per day.
THE ANCESTOR OF WHITE TIGER
Mohan was the father of many
cubs.
He died when he was about 20
years old.
He was caught in 1951 by a
Maharajah in India after a fierce
hunt. He lived in the Maharajah’s
palace, all his life.
