Key messages (1/2)
keerpunt
arbeiders
• Welbepaalde groeimogelijkheden (IT en R&D) en regionale dynamiek dankzij Brussel en Vlaanderen
• Ondanks sterke troeven staat België voor belangrijke
uitdagingen
• Twee structurele nadelen: hoge belastingdruk en niet-competitieve arbeidskosten
=> Nieuwe vaststellingen t.o.v vorig jaar:
• Zeer grote toename van administratieve druk, vooral in Vlaanderen - volgens gevestigde investeerders
• Veel verkeerscongestie
Belgium attractiveness survey 2014

Key messages (2/2)

Q13. The Belgian government has introduced a series of tax increases for businesses and entrepreneurs
(For example, the increase of taxation for company vehicles for employees, the strengthening of Thin-Cap provisions, the
increase of a liquidation tax on corporation, the introduction of more effective General Accepted Anti Abuse provision and
the introduction of a fairness tax on dividend distributions). Would you say that the combination of these measures

Q19. In 2005, the Belgian government introduced the “Belgian Notional Interest deduction”, a tax incentive
aimed at attracting and maintaining capital intensive investments and financial treasury centers toin the country.
Over the last 2,5 years the Belgian government has, for budgetary reasons, consecutively reduced the benefits of
this incentive. Do you feel this Belgian investment policy measure (in its current status) continues to be relevant
to maintain or attract investments in/to Belgium ?
