Finally, India has its own resort fashion week in true sense of the term. Although, we believe that models could have been judged according to their bodies- we don’t want to see models wearing bikinis and showing off painful razor burns on their bikini line or stretch marks on their tushies! It is okay to get razor burns or stretch marks but flaunting it on the ramp where every tiny flaw gets magnified is insane, isn’t it?
It was like a breath of fresh air and we are looking forward to the next IRFW- more because it has scope of improvement and growth. However, we would also hope next innings get us a different designer for grand finale after having watched the same two consecutive seasons. Two times in a row, third time will make it a very tedious pattern.
Before you pack your back-pack and set out on that rejuvenating trip, don’t forget to do a quick trend-check! xx

KAFTANS
Kaftans always do justice to the waistline, so one doesn’t have to worry while
getting clicked! Especially during those exotic vacations. Pria Kataria Puri’s mini
kaftan, Babita Malkhani’s longer one, Nandita Mahtani’s modern kaftan as well
as Jaya Mishra’s belted one- all fulfil this purpose!

Play it safe with Maillot
While a two piece bikini is hotter, a one-piece swimsuit is more chic. This year it’s
time to cover up! Turquoise & Gold opted for an all-ivory one shoulder bathing
suit, Falguni & Shane crafted a printed bathing suit with padded sleeves, Rocky
S did a sequined one and Sounia Gohil got us a sunset inspired one.

long jumpsuits! Rocky S gave it an animalistic effect, Turquoise & Gold’s were

Sheer
Translucency played a major role this IRFW. Designers used it as a peek-a-boo
element or as an overt layering revealing what lies underneath. Nishka Lulla,
Sounia Gohil, Babita Malkani as well as Falguni & Shane Peacock did it most
effectively.
