2. In order to see what type of genre to focus on, we decided to create a
questionnaire and ask thirty, fifteen to twenty-four year olds about what
genre they enjoy watching the most. The results showed that our
demographic were most interested in horror films. This is what made us
choose a horror film in the first place, as its the genre that appealed with
our target audience the most.

3. After our initial draft of the film, we asked individuals again whether or not their
was anything we could improve in our film.We discovered that although our
audience enjoyed our opening sequence, many felt that the story didn't lead into
a bigger arc, and that they struggled to see where the story would go as it ends
with the girls death. This is when we decided to introduce the new character of
Katie and the idea that the she was to be the new target of the killer. She would
then serve as the main audience surrogate and lead the audience through the
narrative of the film; engaging audiences by developing a bond with the
character instead of isolating them from the action with the continuous murders
of people they haven't formed any bonds with.
4. Once we were happy with our opening sequence, we decided to once again do another
questionnaire in order to find out which title most resonated with our audience. Out of the
possible options of “One by One”, “Dismemberment”, “Alone or “Distracted by the Night”.
Our results showed that One by One was the most popular amongst the combined totals of
both male and female votes. “Alone” was the most popular with female audience members
but was not so favourable with men, getting only one vote from boys. In choosing One by
One, we have managed to successfully deduce the best possible title for our opening
sequence which will engage both Men and Women audience members.
