Poverty reduction and empowerment of the poor and vulnerable
Human Development and Poverty Reduction Cluster
Public-health related goals:
Recognizing the importance of advancing and protecting public health;
Increasing social protection and engaging communities in their own development;
Ensuring effective coordination of national government programs for poverty reduction at the local level.
The Kalusugan Pangkalahatan has three thrusts for the Filipinos.
These strategic thrusts are to achieve health-related Millennium Development Goals by 2015 with further gains in 2016, providing financial risk protection from the high cost of catastrophic or serious illness, and securing access to quality care at all levels of health facilities.
These three thrusts are being implemented in a continuum of interventions of
Primary prevention and Health Promotion
Secondary prevention and Primary Care, and
Curative health care.
Interventions for Primary Prevention and Secondary Prevention comprise Public Health Care. Curative health care is focused on individual care in hospitals and rehabilitation centers
