Five students from Bragança council spend some time at IGC. The partenership between Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Câmara Municipal de Bragança aims to provide an opportunity to the best students in Biology from this region to develop a scientific research project here at IGC.
The students, from three schools at Bragança, will be working in several research fields from ageing of cells to the genetic of malaria infection, and from bacteria resistance to antibiotics to the development of fruit-fly and chicken.

13. DNA extraction Agarose gel electrophoresis allows to look at the DNA by addition of a substance that binds strongly to DNA and is fluorescent under UV light.
