This website is a prototype to demonstrate that barcode can be used as an effective tool for individual consumers to make informed purchase decision beyond the messages manufactures and marketers put in front of us. Barcodes can be a new communication channel between consumers and non-profit organizations. My first attempt is to focus on eggs. This prototype offers consumers to choose eggs based on the welfare of the laying hens through 3 categories. : Cage Farming, Cage free and Free Range.
