- 13. Congratulations! Now you can start blogging. You find yourself in the posting area. First give your post a title. Start typing your text in the posting area or add an image/video to make the page look appealing.

- What started as a platform for me to share with others has most definitely become a passion! The reasons I blog are the following: to teach from a different medium, sharing technology information, book reviews, school news, communicating with students, writing encouragement about my relationship with parents, school and God. I am also now using my blog to encompass my library website and correlate the static approach of my site to make it more lively and readable with links from my blog. My other blog is called Kid’s Blog and I use that to chat to my students like a live journal. What are some of the reasons you are looking to blog?
- Welcome!! So you have made the amazing decision, and blogging is going to be part of your life! Blogging is not only fun, but allows you to discover more about yourself, what makes you tick, helps you develop your potential personal learning network and makes you learn how to interact on the web with your peers. Be aware that at the beginning you will feel a little overwhelmed, as you think everyone is watching your every step! We can rest assured that if we are made in God’s image we can relax and enjoy the ride!

- I use Kidblog for updating my students with my bi-weekly email and they often comment in their own blogs and add pictures. It does require a little bit of work setting up but it is a ton of fun, and your relationship with your students will soar as you respond as you would in a journal, with mutual feedback. - Choose a name which reflects the identity of your blog and add .blogspot.com to complete the name. Choose a blog name that can also be used as the domain name, and clearly defines your topic. - Back up computer first by going to blog’s current template, sign in to Blogger and on the dashboard click on Design.Then under Edit HTML option you will find Download Full Template, under Backup. Save it on your pc. . You can now restore (if needed) your saved template by clicking on Browse button and upload.
- When deciding on title think about who you are addressing and what your posting is going to be about then think of a good title. For instance if you are blogging about what you did in homeschool today you might want to title it” Today we learned how to make lapbooks with our friends” and then in a short blurb you outline your days’ events. You might want to include some photographs of your happy day after each little explanation of the day’s events.
- You can drag and pull the gadgets around your page until you are happy with the layout. Make sure that others can follow your page using RSS, Google Feed, email or FB and Twitter. Play around with the settings and you will find ways to help your users stay up to date with what you are sharing.
- Add other bloggers to your PLN by adding new websites to your dashboard at the bottom of the page where you see add and manage. Simply enter the URL for the blog you want to follow and a blurb will appear every time you go to your dashboard and check to see who has updated their blog. This is easier than reading through a ton of emails from bloggers.
- Go to Posting page and then edit pages and click on New page which open a new page for you. You can have up to 10 pages on your blog. Use for longer articles, list of links, profile page, bloggers you follow etc
