Within this 4 areas there are 12 mechanisms that can help organizations drive
their innovation results:
1. Design an inspiring vision
Design the future you want to build and that will inspire other to build it
with you.
2. Engage everybody
Reach out to a broad audience; listen to their inputs and ideas.
3. Clarify leadership behaviors
Make sure every leader knows their role and behaviors to do and avoid in
order to stimulate innovation.
4. Make a time and space to innovate
Stop waiting for creativity to happen during “free time”, dedicate
working hours and working spaces to innovate.

Creativity and Innovation are not “hobbies” or “optional”, they are a
new responsibility.
6. Develop creativity and innovation skills
Provide tools and training to help develop organizational innovative
talent.
7. Measure
If it cannot be measured, it cannot be managed. Define useful creativity
and innovation metrics.
8. Use available new technologies
Go beyond the traditional intranet and take full advantage of the new
technologies available.
9. Create a facilitator network
Assign mentors that will support teams and help the organization to
keep moving forward.
10. Facilitate new connections
Avoid departmental isolation by connecting teams and professionals.
11. Assign budget and resources
Search for innovative ways of funding innovative projects.
12. Create a climate free of FEAR
Where there is fear, there is no innovation. Create an organization based
on TRUST.
