23. Online Attendance Policy
While attending an online program is convenient, there is still an attendance policy.
Minimally, a student must submit a gradable item each week in order to be
marked present for that week.
A gradable item is defined as a threaded
discussion, assignment, test, or quiz.
After 14 consecutive calendar days of absence, a student will be withdrawn from
the College. Any action taken due to excessive absences may affect financial
aid and graduation dates.
A student who does not attend at least 50% of the scheduled class hours will not
receive credit for the course.
24. Externships/Practica/Clinicals
(MIBC, HIT, and Paralegal Studies Students Only)
Externships/practica/clinical experiences may be scheduled to meet
any day, Monday through Sunday based upon site assignment.
Externships and practica are typically only scheduled during the
day. Evening and/or weekend externs/practica are not typically
available or scheduled.
Arrangements for externships/clinical practicum may also be made
such that the student will be required to commute in excess of three
(3) hours each way.
Because they are developed and scheduled as part of the
academic program, externship/practica/clinicals are arranged and
scheduled by the college.
