BlaBlaCar is a long distance car sharing community, connecting drivers with empty seats and people looking for a ride. Our website and mobile apps allow drivers to publish a planned journey. Passengers can then search available offers, and get in touch with the driver of their choice. We provide a range of features to create a secure, reliable, trust-based community and easy connections between drivers and passengers. For instance, members specify how chatty they are on the scale “Bla”, “BlaBla” and “BlaBlaBla”, hence the name BlaBlaCar. Members rate one another after travelling together, allowing them to build trusted reputations in the community, and contact details are verified. BlaBlaCar is currently used by more than 500,000 people every month across Europe. The community, already numbering 2.5 million members, has been growing rapidly since 2009, in great part due to rising fuel costs and expensive rail fares. http://www.blablacar.com

At 2016, we are proud to have started a chapter in 25 cities (and growing), graduated 400+ companies, and witnessed all of our entrepreneurs' achievements, including raising more than 40 million Euros altogether. While we are well on our way to reaching our goals, we're looking ahead, and aiming for more! In this year alone, we've added six more chapters including Belgrade, Bucharest, Chisinau, Nicosia, Sofia and Zaragoza. There is no doubt that there will be more work ahead, but as true entrepreneurs, we believe hard work, perseverance, and pursuing your passion leads to success. The success of many companies depends on figuring out a clever way to grow, earn or operate that will change drastically change the game, stack the cards in their favor. There are many interesting business hacks that give this result. In this presentation I will show you how innovate by working at the revenue streams. We will talking about 2 things: switching the way you claim the value from customers, introducing totally new revenue streams unheard of in a specific industry The course is based on my 12 years of experience as a consultant in top consulting companies and owner of small consulting company (the last 7 years). I have been also CEO, Board Member responsible for strategy, improvement and turn-arounds in biggest companies from FMCG, SMG, and B2B in Poland so I know the implications of what I will be talking about inside-out. I have firsthand experience with low cost airlines and low cost retail In the presentation you will learn 1. How you can claim your value? 2. When you should apply specific example? 3. In what innovative way were companies generating new revenue streams? We will discuss companies such as: Ryanair, Sandwich Video, Legimi, Canva, DollarShaveClub so you will see in practice how revenue streams are generated.

Here at Referralcandy, we're advocates of the power of word of mouth in acquiring new customers. We also believe it could be more effectively utilised with an understanding of how it works. We love how Brand Autopsy’s article “Ernest Dichter on Word of Mouth Marketing” explains the process, so we distilled the key points of the article with illustrations and statistics. Enjoy!

Mayor and Executive Board of the Municipality of Amsterdam have agreed on the Action Plan on Sharing Economy and herewith gives space to the opportunities the sharing (or collaborative) economy offers to the city. Sharing economy is a broad concept, amongst other things it is about making more efficient use of goods, services and skills. By using online platforms, people can for example exchange, rent and borrow stuff from each other more easily. The consumer is at the centre and gets more affordable and easier access to services and goods. The Mayor and Executive Board want to stimulate the sharing economy where possible without losing sight of any excesses. Risks include an uneven playing field or a lack of social security. Thus the sharing economy is not a question of ban or authorize, but of monitor and seize opportunities where possible (March 2016).

We work with startups on daily basis within our accelerator StartupAkademia and we have noticed that despite tones of very good books on lean methods (i.e. Lean Analytics, Running Lean etc.) startups as well as small / medium businesses have problems with applying this knowledge in practice. We have noticed that, especially first time startups, do not really understand their business model (which is totally understandable). That's why, it is very difficult for them to know what they should concentrate on. Most entrepreneurs / startups have more or less clear business idea but quite often they do not know the business models they can chose and end up learning it the hard way, through their mistakes. Some of them have read the Lean analytics, Lean Starup or Running Lean but even then they do not know exactly how to translate it into coherent Excel model. A business model in the form of Excel is very important for evaluating your business, seeing how much cash you need and how your hypothesis and KPIs are translating into the business Therefore we build a course on Udemy: https://www.udemy.com/on-line-business-models-in-excel-practical-guide/ The presentation you will find here is just a fraction of what you can find in the course What will this course give you? The course is a practical, step by step guide loaded with tones of tips and tools that will help you significantly speed up with your business, especially if you are a startup or a small / medium business. There is little theory – mainly examples, a lot of tips from our own experience as well as other notable examples worth mentioning. Our intention is that thanks to the course you will know: - What your business model is about, what to concentrate on and what are the key KPIs for you? - How you can translate it into Excel and evaluate your business? - How to make conclusions on the basis of your business model presented in the form of Excel

From Jeremiah's blog post: http://www.web-strategist.com/blog/2013/06/27/keynote-slides-the-collaborative-economy-corporate-opportunity/ This particular speech weaves in a story about Danish King Frederick the 7th, who I got to learn about on last month’s trip to Copenhagen. I was intrigued by his unique conundrum as he saw a revolution coming to his gates, giving him one of two choices: 1) Fight them and potentially lose his head, or 2) collaborate with the crowd. We dip in and out of his experience throughout the presentation, as we cover key steps in the presentation: a definition of the trend, real world examples from many verticals B2B and B2c, numbers showing the disruption in terms of dollars, a look at the causes of this sharing movement. In the meat of the presentation, we focus on the solution, which we call the Collaborative Economy Value Chain, and provide real world examples of what corporations are doing now. To top things off, we’re honest about the many challenges, but also list out the benefits of why a company should join the collaborative economy. The appendix has additional data from our research, a glossary, and credits from whom we interviewed.

The microservices honeymoon is over. When starting a new project or revamping a legacy monolith, teams started looking for alternatives to microservices. The Modular Monolith, or 'Modulith', is an architecture that reaps the benefits of (vertical) functional decoupling without the high costs associated with separate deployments. This talk will delve into the advantages and challenges of this progressive architecture, beginning with exploring the concept of a 'module', its internal structure, public API, and inter-module communication patterns. Supported by spring-modulith, the talk provides practical guidance on addressing the main challenges of a Modultith Architecture: finding and guarding module boundaries, data decoupling, and integration module-testing. You should not miss this talk if you are a software architect or tech lead seeking practical, scalable solutions. About the author With two decades of experience, Victor is a Java Champion working as a trainer for top companies in Europe. Five thousands developers in 120 companies attended his workshops, so he gets to debate every week the challenges that various projects struggle with. In return, Victor summarizes key points from these workshops in conference talks and online meetups for the European Software Crafters, the world’s largest developer community around architecture, refactoring, and testing. Discover how Victor can help you on victorrentea.ro : company training catalog, consultancy and YouTube playlists.

Corporate and higher education. Two industries that, in the past, have had a clear divide with very little crossover. The difference in goals, learning styles and objectives paved the way for differing learning technologies platforms to evolve. Now, those stark lines are blurring as both sides are discovering they have content that’s relevant to the other. Join Tammy Rutherford as she walks through the pros and cons of corporate and higher ed collaborating. And the challenges of these different technology platforms working together for a brighter future.
