In Holonomics we guide the reader through some of the fundamental ‘experiments’ that Goethe carried our using a glass prism. In actually doing the experiments, the reader begins to gain experiential knowledge of what is meant by a phenomenon, and how for example different colours by Goethe were thought of as belonging together. In 1951, Heinrich O. Proskauer first published his wonderful book The Rediscover of Color which was written to take readers step-by-step through all of Goethe’s experiments. The book came with its own small prism, and sixteen colour cards (printed on both sides) which allowed readers to follow the steps that Goethe described in The Theory of Colours. Unfortunately Proskauer’s book is no longer in print, and secondhand copies are extremely expensive. These slides you are about to see replicate the colour experiments from The Rediscovery of Color, allowing you to explore further Goethe’s theory which we describe in Holonomics, along with instructions on how to use the prism.

The Holonomics Ecosystem was created to show the connections and pathways through our book. The four major elements of holonomic thinking are: Systemic – Understanding the organisation as an organic and dynamic system of interrelated organs. Experiential – Understanding the lived experience of each person – employees, management, leadership, stakeholders and the community. Meaning – Understanding how shared meaning emerges in the organisation over time, allowing the organisation to be able to become agile, efficient and transparent – an authentic whole. Ethical – Understanding how human values are the foundation of authenticity, agility and change So in the Holonomics Ecosystem the books are generally organised together around these different elements.

Successful Leadership in the Sharing Economy – The Journey to Authentic Dialogue In this book I would like to bring together a number of threads which I have been writing about recently – principally knotworks (networks with ego) – which will allow me to flesh out more detail and help you uncover a number of dysfunctional patterns in your organisation, network or community. The reason is that the journey from where we are now economically, to a more humane and ecological way of living starts with ourselves and our relationships with those immediately around us. And if we can comprehend, understand and heal these broken and inauthentic relationships, then we can start to rediscover trust, values and what it means to genuinely share and co-create, whatever we are attempting to envision, innovate and bring into this world.
