DEFINITION OF
In a broader context, physical
education is defined as a process of
learning through physical activities
designed to improve physical fitness,
develop motor skills, knowledge and
behavior of healthy and active living,
sportsmanship, and emotional
intelligence.
Thus, Physical Education is not
only aimed at physical development but
also includes the development of the
individual as a whole.

The development of physical
endurance, strength, coordinati
on and body control so
essential to optimum body
functioning.
The attainment of physical and
emotional poise, desirable responses
and attitudes towards victory and
defeat, self-expression, self-confidence,
self- discipline and the spirit of fair play
so vital to democratic living.
The development of proper
attitudes, appreciations,
understanding and skills that will
influence future decisions when
individuals make out-of- school
choices for themselves.
The acquisition of
interest, knowledge and skills
in a wide variety of activities
which leads to the wise use of
leisure times.

“Program of Activities in
PE for Elementary
Grades.

  • 2. DEFINITION OF In a broader context, physical education is defined as a process of learning through physical activities designed to improve physical fitness, develop motor skills, knowledge and behavior of healthy and active living, sportsmanship, and emotional intelligence. Thus, Physical Education is not only aimed at physical development but also includes the development of the individual as a whole.
