WELCOME TO THE LIBRARY
Blue question 1 What is your name? My full name is Mrs Margaret Smallpeice You can call me Ms Margaret
Blue question 2 When is the library open? The library is open: Sunday – Thursday 7.00am – 3.30pm
Blue question 3   When can I come to the library? You are welcome in the library during an English class with your teacher or during break or before or after school
Blue question 4   What kind of things will we be doing in the library? Sometimes you will be learning how to find out information Sometimes you will be reading
Yellow question 1 How are the books arranged? There are 3 main areas for books in the library Reading Oasis General Fiction Non-Fiction
READING OASIS This is where we keep the  GRADED READERS
Yellow Question 2 How do I know which level I should read? On the wall of the Reading Oasis is a poster with examples of each reading level.
NON-FICTION These are the books which give you  INFORMATION about lots of different subjects
REFERENCE Reference books are a special kind of non-fiction book
GENERAL FICTION This is where we keep fiction books that haven’t been given a grade and the magazines you can borrow
Red question 1 How do I find my way around the library?
Red question 2   How many things can I borrow at one time? You can borrow: 3 books for 2 weeks			 1 DVD for 3 nights	 1 magazine for 1 week  But no more than 5 items  at a time
Red question 3   Will I need my ID card to borrow things? Yes, we need to know your  student number when you 		 check out items from the library
Red question 4   What if I don’t bring the stuff back on time? No, we don’t hang you out to dry BUT, we will send you 2 reminders and if you still don’t bring the stuff back, we will take the cost out of your allowance!!!!!!
Green question 1   How do I get help in the library? Easy --- Just ASK It’s my job to help you
Green question 2 What makes librarians REALLY angry? Eating and drinking Loud talkers Chewing Gum Seeds CHEWING GUM LOUD TALKERS
Green question 3 Does the library have a website? We have a page on the IAT intranet which has links to lots of useful websites
AND I have a blog at librarianiatdxb.edublogs.org which shows lots of work done by IAT students
