where students can learn to live life through the senses
and better engage in life as it happens rather than
caught up in unnecessary thoughts.
In this sense WabiSabi is the material representation of
Zen Buddhism. The idea being that being surrounded
by natural, changing, unique objects helps us connect
to our real world and escape potentially stressful
distractions.

I always knew I was empathetic towards people and their
feelings, but after this exercise I realized I might have
developed a slight sense of synesthesia. When I hear,
touch or hear something that I’m really moved by, I see

A guilty pleasure/vice of mine are rom-coms. I know it’s a bit weird for a guy like me,

My most exotic experience
During my 2011 visit to the Philippines, I
went on a very small and personal river
tour to the Pagsanjan Waterfalls in
Laguna.
The boat was very cramped,
uncomfortable and really long – but the
experience was amazing and unique.
The colors of the vegetation were
saturated and everything had some sort
of texture to it. To add, the personal
boat tour was navigated and done by
only two people who rowed in the front
and the back. During the rocky portions
of the river however, the person rowing
in the front would get out and pull the
boat while climbing on the rocks that
didn’t look all too safe.
