Teaching with technology is a key skill for future social work educators. All social work educators, especially those early in their careers, find themselves teaching from syllabi they had no role in developing. Although there are many benefits to the "hand-me-down" syllabus, one of the limitations is that assignments are rarely updated to reflect the realities of the 21st century workplace, which now includes the use of technology to achieve practice outcomes for clients and organizations. The purpose of this workshop is show how to incorporate the use of technology into social work assignments across the curriculum.

After presenting Human TERMS of Engagement at ER&L 2014, conversations with librarians new to e-resource management positions and those who are suddenly responsible for managing e-resources led to requests for information about where to start learning more about this important area of librarianship. The following reading list and discussion questions are from my syllabus when I taught a section of LIS 755: Electronic Resource Management and Licensing in Fall 2012 and 2013 for University of Wisconsin – Madison’s School of Library & Information Studies as an asynchronous online class. I share this with hopes that the readings and questions will be helpful to those new to the work.

This work centers around the various advances accessible to help instructing and learning in e-Learning frameworks whose significance for schooling educators and framework designers is obvious. It is important to decide the most fitting e-learning advances to help the individual necessities in instructing, which make it conceivable to give the best learning freedoms to understudies, considering the current circumstance where instructive frameworks have quick requests got from the Covid 19 pandemic, which makes homeroom based instructive practices offer way to far off exercises. There are as of now drifts in the improvement of an assortment of accessible advances which might be outlined in Web environments and Virtual Reality among other arising advances; subsequently, the choice to utilize a specific innovation should be founded on strong exploration and obvious proof. This article audits a considerable lot of these e-Learning framework innovations and gives data, about their utilization, openings and patterns being developed.

E-Learn 2014 Abstract: Today digital footprints are left all over the Internet for others to find. This article reviews the means through which scholars can organize research and connect digital scholarship for increased visibility and impact. A survey of the literature on scholarship tools to provide connections for publishing records, academic citations, and digital identity management was done. The authors reviewed Researcher ID, ORCID, and Google Scholar Citations. The numbers of portals for synthesizing research output and related identity management platforms are increasing; however, understanding what this research impact might look like in the digital age can provide questions for assessment for understanding these traces of scholarship online.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is everywhere, promising self-driving cars, medical breakthroughs, and new ways of working. But how do you separate hype from reality? How can your company apply AI to solve real business problems? Here’s what AI learnings your business should keep in mind for 2017.

We asked LinkedIn members worldwide about their levels of interest in the latest wave of technology: whether they’re using wearables, and whether they intend to buy self-driving cars and VR headsets as they become available. We asked them too about their attitudes to technology and to the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the devices that they use. The answers were fascinating – and in many cases, surprising. This SlideShare explores the full results of this study, including detailed market-by-market breakdowns of intention levels for each technology – and how attitudes change with age, location and seniority level. If you’re marketing a tech brand – or planning to use VR and wearables to reach a professional audience – then these are insights you won’t want to miss.

Students typically love it: it is new, it is fun to use, it is graphically and interac- tively rich, and it affords access to many types of information, academic and otherwise. Most of today's stu- dents arrive at college already hav- ing some experience with the Web, and some are adept at Web page design and construction. Many stu- dents turn to the Web rather than the library to search for information. On nearly every college campus, edu- cators are incorporating one or more Web-based uses into their courses. Yet for several reasons, the Web has not yet become an integral part of the teaching process. Among these reasons is that Web technology is too new, and too rap- idly evolving, for most biologists to have had time to explore possible teaching applications. The time re- quired to develop useful Web appli- cations and procedures has proven a substantial barrier to many faculty members already stretched thin with time commitments. In addition, po- tentially useful educational material available on the Web, although abun- dant, is disorganized, generally short- lived, and often difficult to authenti- cate. Finally, it has taken some time for teachers who are "early adopt- ers" of the Web to explore the land- scape of possibilities and develop interesting models of possible appli- cations. Many educators are still waiting to be convinced ...

Session for the 7th annual Quality Matters Conference. Over the past two years the field has seen a significant increase in enforcement of civil rights legislation in the area of access to online learning for people with disabilities. The presenter is recognized as the current expert on these issues. It has become eminently clear that there are no differences between higher education and K-12 in the legal compliance for online learning. This session will articulate the expectations the federal enforcement agencies have with respect to access and equity in online learning in K-12 and Higher Education. This presentation includes resources not previously listed in other slide presentations.

Tablets present many opportunities to enhance and increase library instruction, but it is unclear if library databases can rise to the challenge of tablet use. In our study, we used an iPad and tested the functionality of specific tasks that may be used in a library instruction setting: presentation of the page, access to multimedia content, database specific tools, email full text, and separate app/installation requirements. This session will explore the nitty gritty of using tablets for library instruction, leading to a better understanding of the future of mobile tablet classrooms
