1. FINDINGS OF THE REPORT
Theme : Importance of E-learning
According to Surendra R.Rao,School of Education(2011) from thesis
title Global E-Learning : A Phenomenological study, found out that with
e-learning interventions rapidly becoming organization’s response to
continuous learning and change in the new economy, growing global
phenomenon and if the potential is turned into reality, e-learning will be
transformative. The shortening product development cycle, lack of skilled
workforce, increasing global competition and a shift from the industrial
to be knowledge economy and the fast-faced advances with the related
technology, e-learning is here to stay and could be the answer to
tomorrow’s learning needs.
According Algahtani, Abdullah, Faleh(2011),School of
Education,University of Durham from their thesis Evaluating the
Effectiveness of the E-Learning Experience in some Universities in
Saudi Arabia from Male Students’ Perceptions, found out that e-learners
believe that they are able to learn autonomously using all features made
available by the technology. They reported that they were motivated by
the interactivity of e-learning and pursued their courses with intersity and
success. The study also collected that e-learners appreciated the
opportunities offered by e-learning and the way it supported their
studies, facilitating communication and accommodating their learning
needs and circumstance. They recognised that it helped to meet an
increased demand for learning.
According to Michael Tagoe ,Institute of Continuing Education,
University of Ghana from his journal title Students’ Perceptions On
Incorporating E-Learning Into Teaching And Learning At The University
of Ghana, found out that the acceptance of e-learning depends on three
critical factors that are computer ownership, prior experience and
perception of students about e-learning.
According to the findings:
1.Computer ownership
Access to computers was quite high among students, anyhow female
students were more likely to own laptope computers compare to their
male students at the University.
2. 2.Prior experience
Computer skills of students have improved at the University because of
the increasing number of students having acquired those skills before
entering the University.

3.Perception of students about e –learning
Perception of students shows that students would accept mixed and web
supplement courses in the immediate future than web dependent and
fully online courses.
