LC is now available in many room in BU and is wildly used in some schools. YouTube and other website site have made it more accessible
Introduce myself and let the panel Introduce themselves
Talk briefly about my past research and that I ’ m looking at the pedagogic reasons for LC as supplementary teaching resource NOT as a replacement to teaching
Commonly asked points 1. Why fix what isn ’ t broke 2. Will students just stay away from the classroom 3. Will staff just be employed to produce videos? 4. Although I don ’ t want to dwell on technology by adding an extra run on the ladder means an extra area that could break.
Commonly asked points 1. Just by having an extra learning resource the student experience would be a richer one. 2. Students have all kinds of needs, recording a lesson could help with some learning difficulties etc 3. Revisiting a class is always helpful when revising. 4. Watching yourself back on video can be a useful for refining ones own practise.
After about 20min of debate show the student point of view from my research last year.
After summing up ask the question and get the audience to mark on a chat where they stand. Offer contact and feedback...
