THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK In conceiving this study, different theories of learning and knowledge have been used and quoted. The following are the main concepts and constructs upon this study is based.
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK Eleanor McMillen Brown, in her work “Sixty Years of Interior Design”
“Sixty Years of Interior Design” “Contemporary painting and sculpture are happy with furniture of the past. Fabrics of contemporary colors and textures and suitable and appealing on old chairs. Old patterns seem excitingly fresh when rejuvenated by a contemporary palette. Modern Lighting and ventilation enhance otherwise traditional rooms.”
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK Van Day Truex, in his work “The Man who Defined Twentieth- Century Taste” “there is nothing more trite than a period room imposed on a contemporary setting.”
Frank A. Parson, in his work “Interior Decoration : It’s Principle and Practice” It’s Principle and Practice” said that “a house is but the normal expression of one’s intellectual concept of fitness and his aesthetic ideal of what is beautiful.” THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
John Saldino’swork said that “the most successful buildings demonstrate harmonious relationships in scale, whether extremely to their surroundings, or internally to their occupants.” THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
Albert Hadley, in his work “The story of America’s Pre eminent Interior Designer” THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
Albert Hadley “a designer must understand that taste is not a standard but the power to discern, to concentrate. Taste is an appreciation of order and a sure knowledge of what constitute of fitness.
