Where is HTIC?

HTIC is in walking distance to In Spring of 2014, HTIC will move
Waikiki, UH Manoa, and Ala to Kapolei and share a campus
Moana Shopping Center. with the University of Hawaii at
                                            West Oahu.
Hawaii Tokai and UH West Oahu Partnership

Why is HTIC moving to West Oahu?
Sharing programs and facilities with UHWO (2+2 agreement)
More diverse and globalized campus for both institutions
Opportunity for HTIC to expand student enrollment
                       Green campus (energy efficiency)

“By placing one of Japan’s outstanding institutions of higher education alongside our
newest and most modern university campus, together we will offer opportunities
to enhance education that benefit both campuses.”

                          At HTIC, the staff and
                          faculty are very helpful and
                          friendly. I highly
                          recommend HTIC for high
                          school graduates.

                         Attending HTIC was a good
                         choice for me. The smaller
                         classes helped me to focus,
                         get to know my teachers
                         and receive more
                         individualized attention.

HTIC Fall 2012
I enjoy the small classes and
                   dorm facilities here at HTIC.
There is 24 hour AC in the
                   dorms!

                   HTIC is great because
everything you need is all in
                   one location.

HTIC Fall 2012
During my time at HTIC I’ve
                 learned to speak Japanese
                 and frequently converse
                 with students from Japan.

HTIC is a great place to
                 start college!

Discover Japan

"Tokai" of "Tokai University" refers to
the sea to the east of Asia, namely
        the Pacific Ocean, and symbolizes
the desire to foster the kinds of big
           hearts, rich spirits, and broad
          perspectives symbolized by the
               expanse of an ocean.

Discover Japan Students
Participating in the “Discover Japan Program” at Tokai
University in Kanagawa, Japan was one of the best
decisions that I made. I learned the Japanese language
and experienced the rich culture of my heritage. I made a
lot of friends from all over the world living in the
International Dorm. The “Discover Japan Program” is an
excellent opportunity for students interested in studying
            abroad. –Matthew Ogata, Mililani, Hawaii

The Discover Japan program gave me the chance to study
in Japan to improve and take my Japanese skills to a
higher level. I truly love Japan and its language, culture,
and Tokai University Shonan Campus, but what I miss
more is HTIC. –Caylee Takafuji, Kealakekua, Hawaii

The Top 5 Admissions Mistakes
1. Sub-par spelling
The number one complaint cited by college officials about applications they
     receive is poor spelling.
2. Too much informality
Text-message speak or slang, turns off officials, who want to know if you can
write at the college level. Also, be aware of details that might cast a negative
impression. An e-mail address like sexychick@domain.com will almost
certainly be a turn-off to colleges.
3. The wrong amount of info.
A college application may include several components. Don’t rush through the
application and leave items blank. But at the same time, don’t overdo it. Too
much info can also be a weakness. Please also be honest! Dishonesty can get
     you into trouble!
4. Missed deadlines
Missing deadlines is one of the most heart-wrenching mistakes a student can
     make.
5. Failing to Limit Parents’ Involvement
While parents should be heavily involved in any decisions related to applying to
college, some students let Mom or Dad become too involved.

  • 50. The Top 5 Admissions Mistakes 1. Sub-par spelling The number one complaint cited by college officials about applications they receive is poor spelling. 2. Too much informality Text-message speak or slang, turns off officials, who want to know if you can write at the college level. Also, be aware of details that might cast a negative impression. An e-mail address like sexychick@domain.com will almost certainly be a turn-off to colleges. 3. The wrong amount of info. A college application may include several components. Don’t rush through the application and leave items blank. But at the same time, don’t overdo it. Too much info can also be a weakness. Please also be honest! Dishonesty can get you into trouble! 4. Missed deadlines Missing deadlines is one of the most heart-wrenching mistakes a student can make. 5. Failing to Limit Parents’ Involvement While parents should be heavily involved in any decisions related to applying to college, some students let Mom or Dad become too involved.
