Blogging and research
1.
2. Before staring this course I had never
previously used WordPress to create a blog.
However, due to the simple layout of the
dashboard, I quickly learnt how to do upload
multiple different materials to help with
research and planning.
One of the key things I needed to learn to do
was how to upload YouTube clips onto my
blog. This was important as that was where
we would access our preliminary and final
task once they were finished, as well as clips
to help with my research I quickly learnt how
to use embed plus to insert a YouTube clip,
at the right size, into my blog.
The other key feature of WordPress that I
used was custom fields. It was important to
use the field ‘iframe’, so that I could upload
the Prezi’s, PosterMyWall’s and PowerPoints
etc. to my blog, to help with the creative
presentation of my research.
3. IMDb: I had already used IMDb before, so I was
also familiar with how to find out general
information. I often used this site to find out
specific information about a film for my research,
such as what age rating it is, or what its budget
was.
YouTube: I used YouTube to find clips of films, or
their opening sequences. Since I had used this site
before, it made navigating the site and finding the
specific videos or clips that I wanted much easier.
Box Office Mojo: This was a site that I found out
about when collecting my research. I used it
extensively when researching distributors, as it
allowed me to easily find out a films distributor
and what other films they have distributed. I felt it
was more simple to find out this information on
this site than IMDb
