Afterreviewingthe MagnaAcademygreenhouselocationonthe 4thNovember2015, it hasbeen
determinedthatareaprovidesamediumlevelriskoveralltocast andcrew andthat mediumlevels
of disruptiontoproductionare tobe expected.However,itshouldbe stressedthatdisruptionlevels
will varydramaticallydependentonthe time of filming.Multiple elementswere takenintoaccount
duringthisinvestigation.A brief overview of risksanddisruptionsiscontainedbelow.

1 – Beingschool property,the litterof otherstudentsislikelytobuildupfrequentlyinthisarea.This
recentlyanalysisshowedmultiple crispandbiscuitpacketsonlocationwhichcouldresultinatrip
and/orslippingrisk.However,itshouldbe stressedthatthissurveywasconductednotlongaftera
breaktime duringthe school day.Rubbishislikelytovarydependantonwhatdayyoucheck; butfor
the purposesof thisreport,we will assume itbe worstcase scenario(asseentoday).Castand crew
shouldbe informedof the likelihoodof rubbishduringshootingandcrew shouldalsobe prepared
for the possibilityof rubbishcollectionbeingrequiredbefore filmingcanbegin(astoavoidit
appearinginthe shot).Inthiscircumstance,handsshouldn’tbe used(astopreventpossible spread
of disease)andlitterpickerswill be provided.If anyadditional rubbishisspottedaftercollection,it
shouldbe reportedtothe director/producertothenbe collectedinthe same manner.Inadditionto
rubbish,the metalsmarsholdingupthe greenhouseroof are low hangingand,therefore,crew need
to be informedof thisasavoidbangedheads.Thiswarningwill be repeatedagaineachtime acast
or crew memberrequiresaccesstothe building.
2 – Aforementioned,the levelof humanactivitywill varydependantonwhattime of the school day
it is.During11:30am and12:00am whenthissurveywasconducted,there wasnobodyinclose
proximitytothe locationthatcouldcause disruption.The times of the daywhichwill pose most
disruptive are 8:00am – 8:40am, 11:00am – 11:00am, 13:20pm – 14:00pm and 15:00pm – 16:00pm.
As a result,we will planourfilmingschedule forthislocationtakingthese intoaccount.
3 – With the locationbeingsituatedon school premises,anyparentsormembersof the public
wouldbe inside the school buildingand,thus,well awayfromthe location.The onlyexceptionsto
thiswouldcome inthe form of buildingworkandopendays.However,withneitherof these
scheduledduringthe intendedtime of filming,the publicwill posednodisruptiontofilmingonthis
location.

4 – The location’sterrainisentirelywoodchip.Althoughthatnegatesthe riskof slipping,the trainis
rather bumpyand,as people have walkedonit overtime,moundshave builtupwhichcouldpose a
trippinghazard.Once again,all staff will be informed;especiallyregardingnotkickingsaiddirt
moundsto level the groundoutdue toit possiblygettingintosomeone’seyes.If awoodchipmount
isthat large that it posesanissue (whichappearsveryunlikelygiventhissurvey)theneffortswillbe
made to smoothit outsafelyandeffectively.The mainissue,however,isthe factthat the locationis
situatedona raisedportionof land;abouta metre above the concrete ground.Couple thiswiththe
lack of maneuverabilityaroundthe flowerboxesandthere isariskof somebodysteppingbackand
falling.Toavoidthis,there will be somebodystationedonthe groundbelow the cameramanwho
will give thematap onthe back if theygetto close to the edge (orto catch themif necessary).In
addition,we will make itcleartothe cast and crew that at 25cm from the edge,youare considered
indangerof falling.It’satthat pointthatthe crew memberbelow youwillgive youthe
aforementionedsignal.
5 – The weatherissomethingthatwe will have toprepare forabestwe can. At the time of the
survey,the weatherwasovercastwithsome minordrizzle.However,the tearsinthe greenhouse’s
exteriormeansthatcastand crew are still exposedtothe elementsevenwhilstinside.It’sforthat
reasonthe rain will be of massive disruptiontofilming.Furthermore,beingoutinthe coldand rain
for longperiodsof time couldaffectthe healthof castand crew,as theymaycontract a coldand not
be available forfurtherfilming.Todeal withthis,all crew will be askedtobringacoat withthemto
the location.Thiswill alsoapplyonsunnierdaysof forecaststill believeshowerstobe possible.This
will meanthatthe cast and crew are fullypreparedif we are metwithrain.Thankfully,our
documentaryissetovera numberof weeks,socontinuityof weatherdoesnotapplyinthiscase.As
a result,if we receive nothingbothrainduringscheduledfilmingtime,footagecouldbe shotasa
lastresort.
6 – During inspection,there didn’tappeartobe too muchwildlife around.Nolarge animalswere
presentandthe time (norhave any beenpreviouslyreported)andthe onlyvisible creatures
appearedtobe spiders.The spidersattime of inspectionwere satonwebsinthe cornersor the
greenhouse andwere,thus,tuckedoutof the wayfromfilming.The mainwildlifeissuewillbe the
mushroomsthatare growingaroundthe flowerboxes.Whencounted,onlytwowere visible,of
whichonlyone isina positionthatmaypose a nuisance whilsttryingtoplace the tripod.Beingin
the ground,it will notbe visibletothe camera.Cast and crew will be informedinthe production
brief thatany mushroomsinthe wayare not to be, kicked(astoavoidit gettinginpeople’seyes)
stompedon(topreventtreadingitintobuildingorleavingresidue onshoesforpetstogetsick from)
or touched(toavoidspreadof germs).If the mushroomsbecome suchan issue thatremoval is
requiredthenwe will be calleduponthe school caretakerwhowill remove itsafelyand
professionally.
Summery
The location,if filmingistimedandhandledcorrectlyshouldprove little issue.It’sveryunlikelythat
a last minute change inlocationwill be requiredand,instead,we shouldfocusonmakingsure the
correct day forfilminghasbeenselected.Aslongasthe aforementionedprotocol isfollowed,
filmingatthislocationshouldquickandtrouble free.

Afterthis report
Afterthisreporthas been published,all confirmedcastandcrew will be informedof the risksfound
and the procedure foreachat thislocation(withfuture crew receivingthe same talkonce confirmed
on the project).Furthermore,we willsitdownasa group andbeginto lookat weatherforecastsfor
the days we intendtofilm.Fromthere,we candetermine whichdaysare bestforfilmingatthis
location.
