UK is a sovereign state located off the north-western
coast of continental Europe. The country
includes the island of Great Britain, the north-eastern
part of the island of Ireland, and many
smaller islands. UK was first reached by the
population around 30,000 years ago. The United
Kingdom consists of four countries: England,
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The total area of the United Kingdom is
approximately 243,610 square kilometers. The
country occupies the major part of the British
Isles archipelago and includes the island of
Great Britain, the north-eastern one-sixth of the
island of Ireland and some smaller surrounding
islands.
5. Products
Agriculture in the UK is intensive, highly mechanized,
and efficient by European standards, producing about
60% of food needs. The UK retains a significant,
though reduced, fishing industry, the UK is also rich in
a number of natural resources including coal,
petroleum, natural gas, tin, limestone, iron ore, salt,
clay, chalk, gypsum, lead, silica and an abundance of
arable land.

Kingdom. It is the most populous region, urban zone and
metropolitan area in the United Kingdom. London contains
fourWorld Heritage Sites: the Tower of London; Kew
Gardens; the site comprising the Palace of Westminster,
Westminster Abbey, and St Margaret's Church; and the
historic settlement of Greenwich. Other famous landmarks
include Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Piccadilly
Circus, St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square,
and The Shard.
