43. The College monitors regulatory and legal compliance
in several ways. A College-wide Compliance Committee
is charged with ensuring compliance with government
entities as well as compliance with internal policies and
procedures. The College conducts a "Red Flag Review"
annually, to measure and correct compliance with
potential for fraud or identity theft, while a similar
group works to enforce the FTC's Safeguard program,
protecting confidential information.
All of these exist in addition to the other mechanisms
such as the Whistleblower Policy, Complaint form, etc.
The College trains employees and monitors processes
to remain in full compliance with FERPA and no
problems or complaints have arisen surrounding those
regulations.
44. A full-time Compliance Officer is employed in the
Athletics Department to ensure no violations of
NCAA regulations. A Primary Designated School
Official and additional Designated School Officials
oversee federal regulations for international
students to ensure full compliance. (See charts
Criterion 1.1 chart and Criterion 1.2.d chart)
Finally, the College believes strongly in ongoing
education of key employees at workshops, online
training, or other mechanisms that may update
them on the rapid change in regulations and
law. These efforts are generously funded, and
regularly utilized.
