3. What is Virtual Class?
Virtual Class is a learning experience that utilized
computer, internet and other technology device.
Virtual Class is class whereby teaching activities are
carried out online in which the teacher and learners are
physically separated (in terms of place, time, or both).

A VLE means virtual learning environment
VLE is an educational technology that allow the use of
web-based platform and other digital platform for
studies.
5. What is Zoom?
Zoom is a Video Conferencing platforms that allow user to
host virtual event (meeting /class) to provide (Allow)
Sharing of information between people and remote
learning opportunity for students
6. Video conferencing is a technology that allows users in
different locations to hold face-to-face meetings without
having to move to a single location together. This
technology is particularly convenient for business users
in different cities or even different countries because it
saves time, expenses, and hassles associated with
business travel.

To download or install Zoom on your devices follow the
following basic steps:

4. Follow the message displayed on the screen to
complete the installation (keep selecting “continue”
until completed).

5. After the installation is complete the app display a
message that prompt the user to either join meeting or

1. Start by going to zoom.us.
2. On the top right corner, click on the blue “Sign Up, It’s
Free” button.

3. Enter your email address and click “Sign Up”.

4. You'll receive an email from Zoom to activate your
account. Go to your email and click “Activate Account”.

5. You'll be redirected to fill in your first name, last
name, and create a password. Then, click “Continue”.

6. You will be asked to invite others to sign up for their
own Zoom accounts. You can select “Skip this step”.
7. You now have an account! Remember to keep track of your
password for the next time you log in.

Zoom have a lot of feature that enable a fantastic video
conferencing. Some of the features are:
Settings: Click on the Settings link in the upper
right-hand corner of the Zoom Home Screen. (Click
on the Gear shaped icon.)

Toolbar : Toolbar are located at the bottom of the video
conference window is set to disappear when you are
not actively using it and reappear when you move your
mouse towards it. However, if you prefer to have it
showing all of the time you can set your preferences as
shown below

Record: Once the recording begins, you will see a
recording indicator in the upper right corner of your
screen. If you need to pause the recording click on the
Pause icon in the indicator at the top of the page, or
the Pause/Stop Recording button in the toolbar. If you
are using a free account and you do not see the record
button at the bottom of your screen follow these
instructions. Logout of your account Login to your
account by navigating to https://www.zoom.us and
clicking Sign In in the upper right corner of the
window. When prompted enter your Email address and
password and then click the Sign in button.

In the menu to the Left of the screen, click Meeting
Settings, Click the Recording Tab/Link. Toggle Local
recording to on. When prompted click Turn On again,
Log back into your desktop client and the Record
button should appear.

Chat: A side window titled Zoom Group Chat opens.
Please enter your message in the box at the bottom of
the chat window. You can send a message or a
question to your teacher/ Host.
28. How to Join a Zoom
Class/Meeting
1. Go to your emails and open the email which has the
Zoom meeting link sent to you by teacher/ intructor.
2. Click on the link to join a scheduled meeting and
you’ll automatically be brought into the class/meeting.
3. Once you are in the class/meeting, you should
choose “Join with Computer Audio.”
4. After you click “Test speaker and microphone”,
Zoom will first test your speaker(s). Click “Yes” when
you hear the ringtone.

5. Zoom will then test your microphone(s). Say
something and then pause. Click “Yes” when you hear
yourself during a replay.
6. You are now all set with your audio. Click “Join with
Computer Audio” and enjoy the class/meeting!
30. Ethics Of Virtual Event
In a virtual event (meeting/class) the following ethics most exist
1. Log into your meeting from a distraction free, quiet environment.
2. Please keep your audio on mute until you want to speak.
This will help to limit background noise.
3. If you would like to speak or answer a question, use the “Raise H
and” feature. Then unmute yourself after you are called on.
4. If you would like to use the chat box, remember that it is public
and a record of the chat is kept and archived.
5. Have paper and a pen or pencil handy to take notes.
