ABSTRACT
Visible light communication (VLC) is one of
the key area in wireless communications.
Which work similarly to fiber optic links,
except the beam is transmitted through
free space. While the transmitter and
receiver must require line-of-sight
conditions, they have the benefit of
eliminating the need for broadcast rights
and buried cables.
VLC communications systems can be
easily deployed since they are
inexpensive, small, low power and do not
require any radio interference studies.
VLC communication system can be used to
transmit sound and data signals through
the light beam of the system.
The intensity of the carrier beam changes
with the change in amplitude of the sound
signal. Variation in the intensity of the
light beam is converted into a variation in
the voltage level by using photo transistor.
In this mode of communication the
transmitter and receiver requires
satisfying the line of sight conditions.
• Traditional VLC system provides
data communication but it is not
secure. If any one has the VLC
receiver the data can be
retrieved.
• To provide security I would like to add data encryption
using VLC and transmit the data secure way and
implement Vehicle to Vehicle communication.
• In this project, I try to implement the
concept of VLC by implementing a
VLC system which is used for secure
Vehicle to Vehicle communication.
Current Scenario
Project Proposal
• Visible light communication (VLC) is
regarded as relatively secure
communication when compared with
other wireless communications using
radio frequency (RF).
• However, due to the visual nature, the
VLC signals are still subject to
eavesdropping when they are emitted
by the light source.
• I propose a light encryption scheme
using devices having light-emitting
diode (LED) and a camera image sensor,
such as a mobile phone.
• The original visible signal sending from the lamp can be first received by the proposed light
encrypter.
• The information can be encrypted and then emitted
• The light encrypter acts as an encryption gateway for signals in optical domain.

  • 3. ABSTRACT Visible light communication (VLC) is one of the key area in wireless communications. Which work similarly to fiber optic links, except the beam is transmitted through free space. While the transmitter and receiver must require line-of-sight conditions, they have the benefit of eliminating the need for broadcast rights and buried cables. VLC communications systems can be easily deployed since they are inexpensive, small, low power and do not require any radio interference studies.
  • 4. VLC communication system can be used to transmit sound and data signals through the light beam of the system. The intensity of the carrier beam changes with the change in amplitude of the sound signal. Variation in the intensity of the light beam is converted into a variation in the voltage level by using photo transistor. In this mode of communication the transmitter and receiver requires satisfying the line of sight conditions.
  • 5. • Traditional VLC system provides data communication but it is not secure. If any one has the VLC receiver the data can be retrieved. • To provide security I would like to add data encryption using VLC and transmit the data secure way and implement Vehicle to Vehicle communication. • In this project, I try to implement the concept of VLC by implementing a VLC system which is used for secure Vehicle to Vehicle communication.

Project Proposal • Visible light communication (VLC) is regarded as relatively secure communication when compared with other wireless communications using radio frequency (RF). • However, due to the visual nature, the VLC signals are still subject to eavesdropping when they are emitted by the light source. • I propose a light encryption scheme using devices having light-emitting diode (LED) and a camera image sensor, such as a mobile phone. • The original visible signal sending from the lamp can be first received by the proposed light encrypter. • The information can be encrypted and then emitted • The light encrypter acts as an encryption gateway for signals in optical domain.
