Working Title: Goals Sports Weekly
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience:
My audience is aged 15+ this is because the team I am doing the magazine is a local team where
people who follow them or express an interest in the team could vary with age a lot. I assume that
it will be mostly males that follow the club more than females therefore I will be targeting
heterosexuality men that are of a skilled working class and working class. My reasons as to why I
have chosen these psychographics are because it’s a magazine about a Saturday league team
sponsored by their local pub. I feel that my product doesn’t really have a firm target audience age
group because I think that with local villages and towns it’s a close community event where you go
with your family for a afternoon out to show your support. This is exactly the same with older
couples who may go down and take their dog or grandkids with a picnic. I know this because I’ve
played a lot of football and these are all the kind of people I have seen on the side lines when
playing some of my football matches. My feel my magazine would sell well because the younger
kids would like to purchase them on match day.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
The skills and knowledge that I have achieved throughout this year so far are how to correctly
examine the layout of something such as a magazine for example the best way to place everything
without overcrowding it and to be able to take what I liked and put this into my own magazine. I
have studied both film and print and I preferred to create print because it allows you to express
yourself more. This will have an impact on my project because I will want to re-create something
similar to my first magazine I created because I was happy with the magazine and the overall
layout of it.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My project concept is to create a football magazine based on a Saturday league football team
called Goal Sports. This project will consist of me taking snapshots and close ups of the team to
put inside the magazine. I will also be writing facts on the players themselves and the club and
writing about other things such as fixtures coming up, new signings, top scorers etc.
The research that I will need to complete my magazine will be sourced from other magazines such
as their layout style and their target audience, their colours schemes and what colours work well
with other colours. My other source of research will be a book about football and to see what age
demographic they are targeting and if it’s a auto-biography or not. This will help me make my
product because at the moment I’m not to sure my product is going to have a certain target
audience as stated above in the audience section. This may help me decide what target audience
my magazine style will be best designed for.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
The way I plan to evaluate my work is by looking back at my initial plans and comparing my
finished product to my initial ideas and what I would of liked to achieve against what I have
achieved and I also want to use a professional magazine and do a comparison of my magazine to
the inspiration one.
