3. Storyline:
Shawn, Jack and Mary was voted by their classmate to represent 3A class to participate
in a Fresco Competition. Three of them have a good command in arts. As they know, there will be
given great prizes if they are the champion for the whole form.The hamper and mysterious prizes
motivated them to be the first in the competition.
Jack and Mary are having their discussion about the coming competition vigourously
while Shawn show his negligent about it. Mary invites Jack and Shawn to her house for some
further discussion about the competition. Hence, everyone started to do their research and try to find
the best idea for the competition except Shawn. He was playing his phone when others are putting
their effort in finding the best idea. Jack advise him to help them out, after that Shawn went to
help them. He put down his phone and started to find the idea for the fresco competition.
After a hard time of finding the best ideas for the competition, Mary started to complain.
To be the nice guy Jack brought them some drinks to chill. The moment he walk towards them, Jack
accidentally kicked the cup of coloured water on Mary’s paper. The water splash on the only drafts
that Mary had just drew. Mary begin to cry as she feels despair by watching her only drafts being
ruined. She wanted to give up on this competition. Jack was constantly apologizing to Mary while
Shawn is trying to encourage her to start over again. They believe that they will do better than the
previous one to have a even better idea for the competition. So, they cheered themselve up and
continued their work together.

4. Finally, they manage to finish their fresco on time. They was really satisfy with the product
they did and was so confident that they can win the prize. On that competition day, they
unfortunately fail to be champion. They were so disappointed and can not believe they lost the
competition. Shawn blames Jack for the result they have and feel good for himself. Shawn, Jack
and Mary’s form teacher scold Shawn that he did not introspect himself before blaming others for
the failure.
At the end, Shawn realizes his mistake after being scold by his teacher. He apologized to
Jack as he knew that he has the responsibility for the results too. Jack understand his situation and
forgave him. Three of them promise to do well and win the next champion for the next fresco
competition.

5. EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION
Definition :
It reflects the desire to do something because of external rewards such as awards, money, and
praise.
The hamper and gifts are the motivation for being the first place.

6. SOCIAL LOAFING
Definition :
Social loafing is the phenomenon in which people exert less effort when working
collectively on a task.
Shawn was playing his phone when his friends are doing their work.

7. SELF-EFFICACY
Definition :
Self-efficacy is the belief that one is capable of accomplishing something successfully.
Mary easily gave up when she faced some problems ( low self-efficacy)
But at the end, Jack and Shawn was the one who get Mary back on track by saying
that they can do it. ( high self-efficacy)

8. Self-discrepancy theory
Definition :
Self-discrepancy theory is the self-concept that influenced by how close we are to the
person we want to be that can cause us to see ourselves quite differently than we actually
are.
Jack, Mary & Shawn was disappointed they failed to get the first prize.
Three of them have high expectation that they can be the champion in the fresco
competition.
Only they realise that they need more effort to actually reach their target.

9. SITUATIONAL ATTRIBUTION (EXTERNAL )
Definition :
Situational attribution assumes that the cause of an action is due to
external/environment factors.
Shawn blame Jack for the result that they got.
At first, he refuse to admit that he has the responsibility too.
