Welcome to 7th grade at Central Middle School!! We have an abundance of safe, exiting, and motivational
curriculum and projects for the 2010-2011 school years. To ensure that you have a successful and productive
year, we need your help. Following, is important information that will assist you in this task. Take this home,
discuss it with your parents and bring it back signed on Monday August 30, 2010. Thank you and we wish
you a GREAT school year!

Core Team Classroom Supplies
Elective classroom supplies may vary. The Underlined items below are to be brought to each of your classes
daily!
Student Planner (furnished by school)
Pencil Sharpener with lid
Pencils (NO MECHANICAL PENCILS)
One three ring binder with subject dividers
Three-ring, loose notebook paper (NO COLORED PAPER)
One 2” three ring binder with subject dividers (to stay in the Science Classroom)
Library or other appropriate book
Folder with prongs and a pocket inside
2 boxes of tissues
Blue or black ink pens
Colored pencils or markers
**Please no spiral notebooks
General Information
Textbooks: English, reading, geography and science classes utilize desk copies of textbooks. Check-out
copies are available for students who do not complete work or need additional help at home.
Warm-up activities: All core team teachers assign warm-up activities daily and are to be completed on
entry to the classroom.
Enter and exit procedures: Enter the classroom quietly, take your seat and begin the warm-up activity.
Exit the classroom quietly and ONLY when directed by the teacher.
Moving through the hallways: During passing periods walk to the right in the hallways and go directly
to your next classroom without interfering with others.
Restroom and water breaks: Restroom and water breaks will be provided intermittently during regular
classroom periods, as directed by the teacher.
Hall passes: The only recognized hall pass at CMS is located in the back of your student planner and
will be initialed at the discretion of the teacher.
Zero hour: Students should take care of all business before entering their zero hour class including:
eating breakfast, getting a drink, going to the restroom, going to their lockers & putting cell phones
away.
Tardy Policy: Refer to the Cougar Learning Incentives Plan and LPS Student Handbook.
LPS Policies and Procedures handbook: A policies and procedures handbook is located in your
student planner. Please read and discuss it with your parent/guardian/teacher.
2. Cougar Learning Incentives Plan
1. BE PROMPT
• Be seated in assigned seat and begin warm-up activity BEFORE class begins.
• Have assignments ready when due.
2. BE PREPARED
• Bring materials to class daily. Always have paper, pencils and a library book.

• Have materials ready for assignment BEFORE class begins.
3. BE POLITE
• Enter the classroom QUIETLY.
• Keep hands, feet, and inappropriate comments to self.
• Raise your hand and wait for permission BEFORE speaking.
• To minimize disruption in other classrooms when moving in the hallway as a class group, remain quiet and
with your teacher.
• Remain SEATED and QUIET when:
Teacher is instructing.
During intercom interruptions.
Visitors are in the classroom
Phone is in use
Rewards
